We rented the school for our family reunion. This turned out to be a great place, offering activities for every age. The basketball court was great for the teenagers (in all of us) to let off a bit of energy, doubled as a cafeteria to feed the masses, became a stage to the talented performers, and any other activity we wanted to enjoy indoors. A baseball field, volleyball court, and other games in the massive yard outside gave everyone a place to get outdoors and enjoy some family competition.
When it was dark outside, a movie on the big screen let everyone settle down before a great night's sleep. There was a bed for everyone, which is unusual with our large family. And for those who wanted to tuck in early, the walls of the school kept the bedrooms quiet despite the commotions going on elsewhere.
We also found the place to be conveniently located to many other great activities. Rexburg is only about 10 minutes away. We rented equipment from BYU-I, had a picnic in the park (while the kids were enjoying the free water park), went hiking and wading in the river at the Teton Dam, visited a few museums, and much more. There was something for everyone to enjoy.
The Rileys are doing an excellent job restoring the place. They kept the historic feel of the school, while giving you many of the modern conveniences and making you feel like you're at home. They were immediately available should we have any problems, not that we did!
When it was time to depart, no one wanted to leave. Everyone agreed we want to come back soon!
