The place is very high end and clean. However, we encountered a few problems. The building itself is old and has very loud squeals and banging noises from the pipes. When other rooms use their jacuzzi bath…we hear that too. Also conversations from other guests as the walls are thin. One night, the electricity went off completely. One night we were locked out as we shut a set of doors that were not clearly marked to keep open. The staff was nice but did not always communicate with us well or act on our reports in a timely manner. That said, the fixtures and fittings are very nice. Nice to have a kitchenette as well. Bathroom could use some hooks and shelves as there is little room for toiletries, makeup or to hang towels. More pretty, less practical. The restaurant next door is great!

The entire stay was extremely well organized, from the pick up at Fiumicino, to arriving at Luxury on the River, to the cleanliness of the room, available amenities, and the pick up by taxi the next day. Well done!!! Highly recommendable. The location itself is prime. A Carrefour Express is less than ten minutes walking distance. Piazza del Popolo is nearby. Great stuff!!! Will book again if I visit Rome.

Charming old building about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican and Castel of St. Angelo. Room was nice size for Europe accommodations, with a nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. The room had a staircase leading to an upstairs area with extra space for a desk and a big walk in closet, but this was fairly useless for guests only staying a few days (didn't want to lug everything up the stairs and then down again). The property made no communication ahead of our arrival (as most others did) and there seemed to be only one person to greet us when we arrived. She was very nice and accommodating, but within an hour she was gone for the entire weekend, so it felt a bit like guests are just left on their own. We were okay with that, but some people may not feel comfortable with such a skeleton staff. The list of recommended restaurants that the property provided was spotty. One (Ristorante Enzo) was really pretty bad and should not be on the list. Another, located just downstairs and two doors to the right, was excellent and super charming.
