"Our weekend in this cottage was comfortable and cosy. There was plenty of space for the two of us and it would be excellent for families as there are two lounge areas, one very spacious on the top floor. We appreciated the efficient log burner and were provided with all the equipment we needed. The views were lovely with one side looking over a field with horses, alpacas and pheasants. Contact with the owner was excellent. A lovely place to stay."

We were surprised to find that the house is on 4 floors, one bedroom in the basement; kitchen, front room and toilet on the ground floor; shower, bath, toilet and living room on the second floor; two bedrooms (double and two singles) on the top floor. "A much-needed and wonderfully relaxing stay at Hideaway Cottage. The cottage is a true hideaway, tucked away up a little lane with a beautiful little garden which was full of flowers. It was very peaceful, virutally all we heard was the sound of birds and church bells. Ampleforth was very quiet and the coffee shop was a stone's throw away serving fabulous breakfasts and afternoon teas.
