The property was clean and the owner was helpful. It’s out in the rice fields so it’s peaceful and relaxing but you really need a car or bicycle to access this area as the nearest bus stop is 15-20 minutes walk.
The place was quaint and comfortable! The host was friendly and spoke great English. It had everything we needed.

Cozy room with a very comfortable bed and a nice setting. The host speaks english perfectly and is very generous with explanations. The accommodation is easy to access with a rented car, there is space for 2. The amenities are plentiful.
Rosencat is an excellent accomodation in a well maintained and beautifully renovated traditional Japanese home. The building amenities are classy and so are the proprietors. They have an excellent guest service approach, and the accomodation is excellent value for money.
A family-run homestay. I was fascinated by the ypical Japanese home, the minimal design, sliding doors, mats for beds, the ingenious storage... MY guestroom was Western in every way (tv, upright bed, a.c.) but I enjoyed my insight into real Japanese life. The proprietress is a master gardener, too.
We had a great 3-night stay at Rosencat. Our host was lovely and happy to give plenty of recommendations for things nearby. She speaks excellent English which was very helpful for us. Great location with delicious kaiten sushi nearby (Maruishi). It was really helpful to have somewhere to park our car too. Sound travels easily but guests are very considerate of this and we had peaceful sleeps. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great base to explore Sado Island from.
