The night before our vacation, the owner contacted us to say the property was no longer available. He mentioned he would look into alternative accommodation in the park the next day, but never followed up and left us without any response. As the reservation was confirmed, we had already booked a non-refundable return ferry for 4 people, so we had no choice but to continue with our trip and secure a hotel while waiting for him to reply.He never responded, and since he kept the funds until VRBO refunded us in euros, we had to purchase additional euros to cover the unexpected hotel costs. Instead of the self-catering cabin we had planned, we ended up in a hotel in a business district with limited options—restaurants were closed over the weekend, leaving us to eat junk fast food. Unfortunately, this turned out to be our worst holiday experience to date.
