“A beautiful jungle setting, back from the road, fantastic property with privacy and a pool. The house was well furnished and we lacked for nothing while we were there. Bring groceries (and some fresh fish from town) and grill a lovely dinner on the deck. During the day, the place feels like a bird sanctuary and we enjoyed watching a Toucan go in and out of a rounded hole in the large tree behind the house to feed its chicks. “The house was perfect for our party of 4 with a beautiful view of the bay. We would definitely stay here again the house was very clean and well stocked. Communication with Rich Coast was very responsive. We were even treated to seeing the monkeys come through one evening. The one thing I would suggest is to put up a curtain in the shower window in the bath off the kitchen so you can have a bit of privacy from the back deck sitting area other than that, everything was great!”

“So, I want to be careful when writing this review. I’m not going to slam this place and say it’s total junk. It’s not. It is also not for anyone fancy, or anyone looking to enjoy a place near Sámara, and treat it as a home base. We stayed one night, and that was it. Carlos is a wonderful man who seems to be the manager. Very sweet, and you can tell he maintains the grounds and pool. The exterior of the cabanas are lovely, the pool is lovely, as are the flowers and such. I saw the reviews before……

“We had a positive stay at this home in Sardinal. The house was a good size for our family of 7 (3 adults and 4 children). We were surprised to learn that there was conflicting information on the VRBO site about its exact location: the overview described it as walking distance from the beach, while the in-depth description clearly stated that it's in Sardinal. The property management company offered us a rental discount as a result and the VRBO listing seems to have been updated So, while not……

“Un lugar muy equipado, buena atención, sin embargo tener en cuenta que el apartamento es para 8 personas (lo cual es ilógico que quepan en un carro) y ellos solo dan un espacio de parqueo para un carro y es literalmente reducido. También asegurarse bien de la tarifa con el anfitrión ya que expedía ofrece una que no es real. Por lo demás muy buena atención, y el apartamento tiene muy buenas condiciones. ”

“Creative, custom woodwork. Easy to access, self check-in. Nice shower and bathroom. It's off the beaten path, gravel roads, but Google maps got us there. Nice breakfast choices. If its really windy, its noisy, slightly breezy inside but well screened for insects. Good fan but no AC. In the morning, we saw some great birds and could hear howler monkey in the distance. Overall a very nice place.”

We spent half our time unwinding with the peace and quiet around the beautifully landscaped patio and oversized pool. The small town of Artola is charming and welcoming but we were also an easy drive to restaurants, beaches and activities throughout Guanacaste. “Reception is excellent, fastest check in, in quite a while. Car rentals are available onsite. We had dinner & breakfast here before our journey south on the Costa Rica West Coast. There are a lot of family's that use this place as it is very close to LIR airport. The room was spacious, bathroom clean but starting to show signs of needing updating. All the staff that we encountered were fabulous. About the only complaint was that to get a bottle of water you had to pay $5 USD for a quart of local……
