San Clemente’s signature palm-covered umbrellas line San Clemente State Beach (.2 miles away - walking distance), providing a sense of tropical serenity to your visit as you relax in the shade. Volleyball nets and fire-pits for roasting marshmallows add to this beach’s charm. Be sure to take a walk along the historic San Clemente Pier where you will see fishermen casting their nets and if lucky, you’ll spot some dolphins or whales. Grab some clam chowder while at the base of the pier or stop by Fisherman’s Restaurant. Great surfing at this beach is a given. Note: Dogs are not allowed on the beach or on the pier, but there are great walking trails for Fido all along the beach.
