Centrally located, North Park is literally "15 minutes from anywhere" in San Diego. I have been hosting for 7 years and this location has served many domestic and international guests here to explore San Diego. But Grad students here to work on a advanced degrees have found this a good location to land as three major universities are accessible from here.
The neighborhood is very walkable. My first year here I only took the car out once every two weeks. Everything is within walking distance if you are here working remotely- grocery stores, restaurants, shopping are here. And 7 blocks away to the East, 30th street is easily one of the top craft beer streets in America. It is less than a mile to Balboa Park with a great zoo, plenty of museums a nice mix of canyon hiking and biking trails.
The house includes parking, an amenity that is treasured as the neighborhood continues to gentrify. We are mostly a mix of academics and young professionals (ok, hipsters) who have landed here. The vibe is very chill for the most part as you find walking around the neighborhood. I have been here over 16 years and have never signed up for television. Not generally the life here as people are more outdoors. There is a hot tub in the back yard and also a grill for outdoor entertaining.
Neighbors are close by. The neighbors across the driveway are easy going and the neighbors over the back wall are sociable also, but this is not a party neighborhood per se, so respect the neighbors and all good.
Solid Wi-Fi in the house. I lectured a lot from home while I was a professor and it worked pretty well even with guests in the house. Overall, its a pretty quiet neighborhood...but close to Pubs in this hood and more nightlife up the hill in Hillcrest.
Two of the three bedrooms are adjacent to bathrooms. The master bedroom has it's on bath. The front bedroom has access to the shared bath. The middle bedroom has a workstation and can access the shared bath.
Galley kitchen is functional and has a moderate amount of cooking equipment and a spice rack that will get most projects underway.
The house is essentially a "lock it and leave it" arrangement, so there is a not a lot that needs doing outside if you are here for a longer stay. Mostly taking the trash out once a week and watering plants if you are so inclined in the summer.
