Welcome to Avalon III, an AvantStay home! This home was featured on the Emmy award-winning TV show, Staycation!

Our open floorplan is great for entertaining. We hope you’re a fan of dinner parties! Head out to the deck to fire up a feast. If you’re feeling adventurous, Spruce Street Suspension Bridge and its killer views are only a 10-minute drive.

Nearby Attractions: Balboa Park, Seaport Village, San Diego Zoo, Spanish Village Art Center, Little Italy (Italian anyone?), San Diego Seaworld, Gaslamp Quarters (dining/shopping), Waterfront Park, Mission Brewery, Omnia Nightclub, The Morning After (breakfast), Lucha Libre Taco Shop, Biga (Italian), Coronado Golf Course, La Jolla Cove (30 min drive).

All AvantStay guests have access to our 24/7 guest experience line, a dedicated hospitality manager, and hotel-grade amenities.

Home Truths:
- This home allows pets for a fee. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Please note, we do not allow shipping or deliveries of parcels to any of our properties since we do not have access to mailboxes, and cannot guarantee delivery, receipt, or protection of your items at the property.
- Any amplified sound that can be heard within 50 feet away from your residence is prohibited. This home has a noise ordinance time between 10 PM and 8 AM, meaning even a normal conversation must be moved to inside the home during these hours.
- There may be partial obstruction of your view from neighbors' trees.
- Driveway may be difficult for low-graded vehicles to park. There is limited street parking in the area.
- This home is located in a neighborhood with a strict noise ordinance policy and therefore is only suitable for quieter groups. Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting this home, otherwise, if violations occur you may be subject to a fine that can reach up to $10,000.
- Bookings must be made at least 24 hours before check-in. Same-day bookings are not permitted.
- Absolutely no exterior amplified music is allowed. Violations will result in a $500 fine.
- While we do our best to notify guests in advance, unannounced power outages may occur due to unexpected city maintenance.
- No events are allowed unless pre-approved and coordinated through Avantstay. This includes but is not limited to: rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, birthday parties, and social gatherings.
- All guests must comply with local laws regarding outdoor lighting, quiet hours, and limitations on parties or gatherings.
- Please note that there is a set of 10 stairs from the parking area to the unit entrance.

Accidental Damage Protection: A non-refundable accidental damage protection plan has been included in the price of your reservation. Under this plan, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $2000. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets. This plan is not available for reservations 28 days or longer or reservations that require a security deposit.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 30 days require a security deposit.

We report and prosecute all Credit Card Fraud.

Graduation trip to San Diego

We had a great time at this property. It was clean, well-equipped, and just as represented! There was plenty of common space to share, and the bedrooms were comfortable and private. The outdoor space felt like a bonus for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The location was central to lots of the things we had planned, and close enough to downtown to make it easy. I highly recommend this spot!

Responsive, good attention to detail

Overall we had a lovely stay here - great communication and response to our needs, convenient location, thoughtful amenities. Only complaint would be the lack of noise insulation within the apartment and especially from the unit above. We could hear footsteps, moving of furniture etc which wasn't ideal when we were trying to sleep or early in the morning but that said i probably would stay again because it was cozy experience for the overall price.

A very bad experience

Day 1: Upon arrival, we were shocked to see that a property listed as « sparkling clean » was actually really dirty and had not been cleaned at all. The floors, inside and on the deck, were so dusty and grimy that we did not want to walk on them. We had to remove a nightmare of a heavy rug that was full of sand, dust and dirt, clean all the small appliances (coffee maker, toaster, kettle) that were covered in grease, deal with a bad stench in the main bathroom sink that did not respond to normal cleaning, and scrub the kitchen counter several times to get rid of the greasy film. We were not even sure that the sheets and towels were clean. Day 2: I reported these issues to the help line as there is no local property manager. I was eventually contacted late pm by someone in the Philippines, then by a person somewhere in California who communicated by text. He did send a housekeeper but by then it was dinnertime and dark outside so we did not ask her to clean the deck. Then a serious electrical problem occurred because there no plate on an outlet in the small bedroom that caused a power outage in half the condo. With the housekeeper’s assistance, we tried to no avail to get the problem dealt with that evening but had to spend the night with no power in the master bedroom, the en suite bathroom, the long hallway, the small bedroom, the laundry room, and the kitchen. No electrician until around 10:30 the next morning. Fortunately, he repaired everything. Day3: I had fortunately arranged to have a mid-week cleaning and the same housekeeper came back and was able to get the place in much better shape inside and out but by then we had lost 3 days of our holiday. A member of the AvantStay leadership team from Florida left me a phone message later in the day to apologize for all the issues. Much appreciated. Day 4: We had friends over and it was the only good day. Day 5: my car alarm went off, meaning that someone had probably tried to get into the car. There is no garage on this property so cars are vulnerable. Day 6: My husband caught one of the other guests looking into our car. By then we had had enough and left 1 day early. Exactly as advertised. Clean, modern, all amenities listed included. Full kitchen, ready to cook in. Each bedroom (2) with a queen bed and couch pulls out with queen bed. Loved the patio and fire pit for coffee in the mornings and dinner/ drinks at night. Well insulated from outdoor noise. Freeway access close by and not far from beaches or Gaslamp District. Really enjoyed the stay!

Too many details fell through the cracks

We booked the property in advance and were particularly excited by the outdoor patio and fire pit. When I requested the address, I was told that I would receive it 3 days prior to our stay. I didn’t receive anything. The day before our trip I requested the check in and unit information and it was promptly sent. When we arrived at the house, the gate code worked, but the front door code was not correct, so I called. It was around 50 degrees when we arrived and the windows were open. There are only wall units for heat and air and no instructions on how to use them. We were able to get the heat on and that was a relief. The kitchen did not have a wine opener or a can opener. I texted with the customer service agent who indicated that she looked forward to receiving my feedback for the property manager, but no one made any effort to get the items we needed. So, we went back to the store and to a neighbors for the items that were not provided. The apartment was clean and had nice views. I really liked the bath products. The apartment is sparsely appointed, which I didn’t pay so much attention to while looking on-line, as I was focused on the patio. There was a dog barking next door and upstairs, so we didn’t even sit outside. The upstairs neighbors were very nice in loaning us a can opener but the unit is loud and had constant noise from above. We played monopoly while it was raining, and were happy that there was a game available, this was a nice touch. There just wasn’t anything special, towels and sheets just ok, furnishings just ok, details fell through the cracks and we would not stay in this property again. It didn’t ruin our time, there were just too many little things that didn’t meet our expectations.
