Absolutely best spot in San Diego!
The rental started with being warmly greeted by Mary the property. She could not be more accommodating. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was the perfect spot and convenient to great pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. Away from the noise of the boardwalk we found this to be the perfect spot. This house had everything needed to be fully functional as if home. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at such a wonderful location.

Wow!
All I can say is, “Wow!”. You can’t beat the amazing ocean views from this place and literally steps from the beach. We even got to see dolphins! The location was perfect to watch the sunsets, take a stroll on the beach or walk to one of the great nearby restaurants. The house was equally as great . It was very roomy, comfortable, had everything you could possibly need and Mary, the property manager, was very attentive and ready to assist in anyway possible. The beds had new mattresses and were so comfortable. The garage was well stocked with beach gear too! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our son’s birthday weekend!

Great location!
The perfect place to see perfect sunsets! Mary was wonderful and it was fun seeing the surfers. Beds were very comfortable and water pressure in the showers was good. They supplied some drinks to get us started. Plenty of room for our group to spread out.

Great Vacation
Gina and Mary made the reservation and check-in process a breeze. Great location for amazing sunsets! Everything you need for a great beach vacation is there including beach chairs, bikes and boogie boards! I took away one star for the overall experience because as other reviewers have mentioned it is time for some new mattresses. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Pacific beach petfection
We’ve stayed at this lovely property 3-4 times, winter months….we are a senior couple. This home is PERFECT for 2 couples because of the home layout—-2 master bedrooms/2 living areas. Wonderful patios, wonderful sunset/surfing views….one level, great parking, great location. home is so elegantly and comfortably furnished. See my previous reviews for this property. Mary Barry, mgr is awesome, responsive, customer oriented….gives onsite tour at check-in which I love. Cant wait to go back (when i save up🙄)If you cook you will find everything you could possibly want. We eat out most of the time but I fo love to cook and would if I were there long-term…kathy C

Wonderful Vacation Home, Awesome View
My family of 4 adults and a 14 yr old had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Pacific Beach home. I'm saying "home" because that's exactly what it felt like! We were amazed at how welcoming and comfortable it was from the moment we walked in the door. It was spacious enough the we each had our own "favorite spot". And the magnificent view made it really hard to leave for sightseeing. In fact, one day we just stayed in! Gina was excellent at taking care of the details. Mary was attentive and made herself available for anything we needed. She was like our new best friend! Plus we had the pleasure of meeting the owner James when he stopped by to take care of something as we were leaving out one day. Everyone was thoughtful and attentive without being intrusive. The view was spectacular!! We enjoyed watching the surfers, people-watching from the porch and riding the bikes down the boardwalk. We were close enough to enjoy the restaurants and beach vibe yet in a peaceful, relaxed neighborhood. We all agreed that we'll be back!!

Nice property, but the beds were old and saggy. I ended up sleeping in a toddler bed because it was the only one that was bearable. I would love to stay again, if they replaced the beds. My back hurt all week.

Beautiful view!!
This was a gorgeous location to stay. Sitting on the front porch and watching the ocean was amazing. The house was very clean. I did not realize that the extra family room was not off to itself, all 3 bedrooms lead into it, so it really does not work well as a fourth bedroom. Also, there is a ton of activity in front of the house. Cars continually pull up for the view and lots of people come to see the gorgeous sunset. I think it's good to know this so you aren't disappointed. The reason they come is for the view, which is spectacular! I felt very blessed to have it. I barely left the house. The kitchen was well equipped. Lots of thoughtful touches. It sleeps 6 adults well. We had 7 (husband and me, 5 grown kids and a grandbaby). Overall, I would recommend!

We stayed with family and school aged kids. The views are spectacular. The house is very homey and I like that bedrooms are toward the back so it’s a bit more private. We enjoyed every sunset that we were able to and it was just so incredibly relaxing. Mary was very helpful during the check in process and I felt very well taken care of! We will hopefully be back one day!

Excellent property, view and location. Clean and again beautiful. Management was fantastic with special thanks to Mary, Gina and the owner. Staff went above and beyond. When the air conditioning went out, a portable AC unit was provided (although not needed) and repairs to main unit promptly made. And owner provided a mattress topper for my elderly mother-in-law. Highly recommend. We plan to stay here again in the future.

Fall Contentment
Five of us stayed at this magical house for 4 nights for a family reunion. We LOVED it! It has: a wonderful ocean view in a quiet neighborhood, a great layout, comfortable sitting, beautiful decor, a welcoming courtyard, a front (though narrow) porch area for watching the waves and sunsets, and an INCREDIBLBE array of recreation toys: all sizes of beach cruisers w/helmets, strollers, boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, beach towels... and beach access (down many steep stairs, not good for elderly) This is not to say the house was perfectly pristine. If you are VERY picky about tiny things you can find "less than perfect" blemishes: light switches that don't work, a few older window screens that are salt-corroded and pushing out, a misaligned kitchen cabinet door, low shower heads, a front screen door that is difficult to open, and the need for extra bath towels and door hooks. (Also NOTE: the 180° ocean view is beautiful and unobstructed to the south, but has an unsightly power pole at its northern angle) But for us, the alarm system was most annoying. It announced EVERY time - to the whole house in a loud robot voice - which door or window was opening. (Though safe, we felt on house arrest at night (or early morning) when we wanted to go outside or open a window but didn't want to wake up those still sleeping!) However, these are small, slightly annoying things and shouldn't be deal breakers even in the least. It IS a magical house and I highly recommend.

Wonderful experience
From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of this property! The layout of the home was functional, the views breathtaking and the location was amazing! Mary was attentive and informative. Such a peaceful stay
Yearly trip to the beach with friends. Perfect spot for watching surfers, kite surfers, waves and beautiful sunsets. Love how close to the beach this house is and it has everything you need for a perfect beach day.(coolers, chairs, mats, towels, umbrellas and beach toys galore!) This rental was definitely the best equipped home we have ever stayed which made the week even better. Mary was amazing! So responsive and took care of all our needs! Love this home and would love to return.

Family beach vacation
This was our second stay at the property. The location and view are my favorite parts. There is plenty of room and all the essentials are included which is very convenient. Mary is very attentive and helpful with all requests. The only negative was that the furniture is showing its age (bed was very creaky and couches sag, and the hall shower is unusable with no water pressure. Small inconveniences that would not stop me from booking this property again.

We had the best time at this beautiful home! Our family was gathering to celebrate our sons graduation from San Diego State! The house was so clean and well appointed! Mary was very helpful and easily reached! The location was amazing and we even had a beach bonfire one of the nights! Loved the front porch for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening! The property was very nice, the view spectacular and the entire reservation and check-in process was smooth and painless. Very friendly hosts and great amenities. Couldn't have asked for more, great experience overall. The house is at the end of a dead-end which is a lookout point for watching surfers and sunsets. Although it does get quite a bit of traffic throughout the day and up until sunset, we enjoyed people watching along with watching the surfers and wildliife. The PB pier is within walking distance and many choices for coffee shops, breakfast, lunch, dinner and even night life. Great stay!

I didn’t want to post anything, because I was being selfish and wanted to keep the secret. Mary checked that at the door for me ;). Great place. Have been to many many places throughout the area, and this is on the top of the list for a family or 2 couples. Lots of space, and can’t beat the view or location. It’s a locals surf spot, so there’s a bit of activity during the day. Didn’t mind it at all though, and it’s nice and quiet at night. Coming back for sure.

Spectacular Views
Our vacation was amazing from the personal greeting we received from Mary upon arrival. She made sure we knew everything we needed to know about the home as well as restaurants in the area. Upon learning out son was a fan of record stores, she graciously made a list of those near us to check out. For us, a vacation is all in the details and personal touches and Mary nailed it! Mary also left us some treats as she knew we were celebrating our anniversary. She really went above and beyond. The home was perfect for us as it has beautiful views for those cold days and yet only a few steps to the beach for those wonderful warm, sunny days. Although the house literally had everything we needed we did venture out. We really enjoyed how close we were to the boardwalk and pier. Our son and his girlfriend enjoyed going for bike rides to the boardwalk--lots of fun! We hope to be back soon.

As return guests, we are thrilled each time we get to visit this amazing spot! Hosts are friendly, house meets our needs, and those sit-down ocean views cannot be beat (especially when it’s chilly outside). Highly recommend staying here.

Spectacular location, Dated property
We truly enjoyed this property's excellent location, off-street parking, and spectacular oceanfront views. The inclement weather during our stay didn't allow us to take advantage of the outside patio, but the gas grill was a plus. The house is very spacious and the well-appointed kitchen set-up allowed for "many cooks". Property manager Mary met us on arrival, checked in on us the next morning, and was very attentive to our requests throughout our stay. Now for the downside - our party consisted of five adults (two couples and a single). The house has wonderfully spacious common gathering areas, but is better suited to two couples and a child or two due to the bedroom set-up. The third bedroom is small and extremely cramped, with two beds, one of which is pushed up against the closet. The third bathroom is across the hall and also very cramped, with a small shower stall and pedestal sink (no vanity). It appears that the primary master ensuite bath has been nicely remodeled, but the other ensuite and the hall bath need to be updated. The house is definitely showing its age and is a bit banged up. Exterior metal doors don't close properly, hardwood floors near the entry doors are water-stained, and walls and baseboards need some patching and fresh paint. To be fair, we may not have noticed so many of the cosmetic flaws had we been able to spend more time enjoying the outdoor areas, but other guests may have the same impression.

this party inspected the property prior to reserving and expressed no issues with small bath or bedroom. In 15 years,no other tenant has had an issue with the bath or bedroom. I suggest that when you inspect a property prior, to booking pay closer attention before you book. Enjoy your next property that you book.

Perfect Getaway!!
A few friends and I stayed for a long weekend and couldn’t be happier! The place is better (and bigger) than we thought, perfect location, the place was spotless, and Mary was fantastic!! She met us at check in and gave a walkthrough of the place and the communication and accommodations couldn’t have been better! We had the best sunsets too right from the front porch! Will 100% recommend and will def be staying here again if I come back to SD!

2nd stay here. Lovely panoramic ocean view. Very clean. I didn’t cook this stay but kitchen is very well stocked. Home is decorated in a beautiful, very comfortable, yet understated way..perfect backdrop for the gorgeous view. Fun people-watching too…close to so many neat places. Well designed for couples traveling together because of the 2 bedrooms with attached baths. We didnt use the 3rd bedroom or 3rd bathroom across from it. As we were 4 seniors we appreciated that we had no stairs.

Fun beach house overlooking the ocean we /loved watching the surfers/beautiful sunsets . Lots of good seating areas in the house. There is a fair number of people who park near the house and enjoy the view for awhile, but we really didn’t mind them. We would rent again.

Wonderful Place!
We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday over Christmas! The weather was wonderful for December and the views from this beach home were incredible! Although it was a different way to spend Christmas, I brought along our stockings and hung them from magnetic hooks on the fridge for a more festive feel. Mary, the property manager, could not have been more gracious and welcoming to our family. She communicated with me prior to our arrival and made herself available in case we had any questions during our stay. We appreciated the candy and refreshments available for us to enjoy as well. Our group of seven consisted of a mix of teenagers and adults and we were able to spread out nicely due to the two living rooms and gorgeous little porch. We enjoyed using the bikes and if it were summer, I know our kids would have used the boogie boards too. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we hope we can return one day!

Wonderful 1st beach experience for our children!
This beachfront home exceeded all of our expectations. The views were gorgeous. We loved sitting on the front porch watching the ocean and listening to the waves. The property was clean, with a well furnished kitchen, and plenty bikes, and beach accessories. We traveled to San Diego to celebrate the adoption of 3 children, and couldn't have picked a more perfect spot for their first beach experience. Thank you very much. We hope to see you again!

Incredible Vacation Rental
After staying at this house for a week we did not want to go home. Out of all the VRBOs we have stayed at over the years this is easily the best overall property. Gina was great to work with when completing documents before check-in. When we arrived, Mary had the house in perfect condition and everything felt very clean inside. Mary even gave us a full tour of the house which was helpful. The views from the house are stunning and we spent a lot of time hanging out with the windows open. We would not hesitate to book this property again for another week long stay.
