Welcome to the Driftwood Getaway, we hope to host you for your visit to San Diego! Please read through our detailed description below to learn more about the property and booking terms. 

This delightful two-bedroom, one-bathroom unit perfectly embodies the essence of a beachside retreat. Nestled just 20 steps away from the sandy shores and vibrant boardwalk, this vacation haven promises an unforgettable coastal experience. This unit is on the second floor of a quadplex.

As you step into the unit, you'll immediately notice its newly renovated kitchen, adorned with new cabinetry, sleek countertops, and a fresh coastal color palette. The kitchen serves as the heart of the unit, inviting you to prepare delicious meals and create lasting memories with loved ones. Its beachy interior design, characterized by light tones and charming accents, adds a touch of coastal elegance to the space.

The Driftwood Getaway features two comfortable bedrooms with a king bed, queen bed and a living room with a pull out couch, providing ample sleeping arrangements for guests. Let the soothing sound of the waves lull you into a restful slumber.

The bathroom is complete with all the necessary amenities. Whether you prefer a refreshing shower or a leisurely soak in the tub, the bathroom provides a fresh space for rejuvenation.

One of the highlights of the Driftwood Getaway is its outdoor patio. Step outside and bask in the sun, sip on your favorite beverage, and enjoy the coastal breeze. The patio offers the perfect setting for soaking up the San Diego Sun!

PARKING:
For added convenience, the property offers garage parking that can accommodate one car. The garages can accommodate a full size vehicle (truck or SUV) but require the driver to park very carefully. Garage dimensions are approximately 9' wide x 18'5 deep x 8' high (with a dip 6'3" height where the garage opener motor is located in the ceiling center). We recommend you use an additional person as a "spotter". We are not responsible for any damages to vehicles parked in the garage or surrounding streets.

THE LOCATION:
South Mission Beach is a lively, laid-back neighborhood on a scenic peninsula in San Diego. With the Pacific Ocean on one side and the bay on the other, it’s the perfect spot for beach days, water sports, and sunset walks. The historic Giant Dipper rollercoaster, built in 1925, is a local favorite and a must-ride for visitors. A two-mile boardwalk runs along the coast, ideal for walking, biking, skating, or just enjoying the views. With its mix of outdoor activities, iconic attractions, and relaxed beach-town charm, South Mission Beach captures the classic California vibe.

Be sure to check out all San Diego has to offer! You will find yourself centrally located in America’s Finest City with convenient access to the county's most excellent attractions including the world famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, Seaport Village and Harbor, prestigious La Jolla, historic Gaslamp Quarter and much more. There are endless opportunities for fun and entertainment!

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
The exterior stairs to access the unit are shared between the neighboring unit. The home uses Keyless Entry and you will be given a unique door code the Monday prior to your arrival.

For your convenience, there is a shared laundry room with one washer and one dryer available for guests use. The laundry room is on property and the machines are free to use. They are available on a first come, first serve basis. Detergent is provided!

Please note that you can occasionally hear airplanes and announcements made from the lifeguard tower. The beach is a congested area and during peak times can be lively.

This unit does not have ac but fans are provided.

Baby Gear: A pack & play is provided in each unit, we do not provide sheets for the pack & play so please bring your own. A high chair is available upon request.

Pets: Please note that cats are not permitted in our homes. We kindly request that guests limit their furry friend guests to one dog. Host must be notified of pets. Pet agreement must be acknowledged prior to booking confirmation and additional fees may apply.

BOOKING TERMS:
Per the cancellation policy, eligible cancellations may receive a full refund less credit card processing fees. These non-refundable fees are charged by the payment processor at the time of booking and typically range from 3.9% to 4.7% of the total transaction amount.  There is no grace period for Credit Card fees.  Once booked credit card fees apply and can not be refunded.

Age Restrictions: Primary Renter must be 25 years or older. NO EVENTS, ZERO TOLERANCE.

Long term renters of 21+ days additional rules apply:
Cleaning Fee is an additional $125
Utility cap of $125/week

Good Neighbor Policy: This home is surrounded by OWNER OCCUPIED homes. While we understand the Primary Renter and guests are on vacation, the home owners are not. Therefore, we respectfully request Primary Renter and Guests display behavior that is becoming of a typical neighborhood environment. Home owners across San Diego are banning together to eliminate the rentals of private homes as vacation homes. Please help us preserve our right to rent by being respectful neighbors.

NOISE/NO PARTIES: Quiet hours are strictly enforced, 10 pm – 8 am per city ordinance. This property has ZERO TOLERANCE for noise, parties or loud music which includes any excessive daytime noise, cursing, yelling or screaming. Fines will be applied for complaints. Drinking games of any kind ie: beer die, pong, funnels etc. and music that is audible past the property line are strictly prohibited. Immediate eviction can result if these rules are broken.

San Diego Municipal Code 59.5.0502 states that at all times; any amplified sound that can be heard 50 feet away from the rented residence is prohibited. Between 10 PM and 8 AM, even normal conversation must be moved inside the rented residence. Per SDMC 51.1004 and California Penal Code 415.2 noise violations can result in fines (Up to $1,000) for property owners and Renters if there are repeated calls for noise violations to one address. Renters will be liable for any and ALL noise violation fines charged to the property owner. Excessive Noise disruptions can result in immediate eviction without the right to a refund of rental fees or security deposits.

Drugs/ Alcohol: Use of illegal/illicit drugs by any Renter, Guest, Occupant or Visitor in or on the grounds is strictly prohibited. Consumption of alcoholic beverages by a minor under 21 years of age is strictly prohibited.

No Smoking of ANY kind: This is a non-smoking property, both in and on the property. A fee of $1,000.00 will be charged for violation of this rule, plus any costs incurred to remove smoke odor or damage. Smoking includes but is not limited to: cigarette, cigar, marajuana, cocaine, incense, or vaping. While Marajuana is legal in the state of California it is NOT allowed on this property.

Properties are subject to exterior patrol by our staff and homeowner. If Renters are causing a nuisance, having a party, acting detrimentally toward the property, breaking the noise curfew or any stated rules and regulations we reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement, without refund, and immediately remove Renters and guests from the property. Absolutely no disturbances are allowed within this home or anywhere on the property premises. We also reserve the right to refuse occupancy if a house party is suspected.

Our neighbors are very, very sensitive to vacation rentals as it affects their right to live in a peaceful environment therefore we will enforce these policies in exchange for the privilege of renting this home as a vacation rental. The City of San Diego has adopted stricter guidelines for vacation properties and bad operators will not be allowed to rent their homes. If the actions of the Renter and their guests are detrimental to our right to rent as a vacation rental we reserve the right to evict and retain any rental fees and/or security deposits and will report abuse to the rental platforms and will take legal action against Renter if their behavior results in loss of permits.

Guest Occupancy:
Occupancy: The maximum occupancy for this Rental Agreement shall not exceed the number stated on the reservation. Only primary Renter and guests accounted for on the reservation are allowed to be on the property.

Age Restrictions: Primary Renter must be 25 years or older. Guests must be 25 years or older. Parents and children excluded.

No Subletting: If Renter can not keep the reservation please alert us as soon as possible so we can assist in re-renting the unit. If the unit is not re-rented and at the rate of the current reservation Renter will not be refunded their rental fees.

If excessive cleaning is needed, Renter will be charged $100/hour, or actual charges, whichever is greater. If area carpets are excessively dirty after check out Renter will be charged a $300 fee for carpet cleaning or full replacement value PLUS any loss in rental income at $500/night.

NO DAILY MAID SERVICE: Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. The cleaning fee referenced above shall be applied to the cleaning service after check out. If daily maid service is desired it can be arranged for an additional daily fee.

Missing or damaged items will be charged at full replacement cost. Guest is responsible for all damages.

Kitchen: Cooking at high temperatures can result in strong smells that permeates throughout the home and into the fabrics of the home. Excessive odors can come from, but not limited to, popcorn, fish, certain spices etc. Please open windows, use kitchen fans, and be mindful that this is a shared living space. Should a strong odor be detected upon check out, an air purifying fee will be applied.
