Quirky & clean

Our stay was easy and comfortable - clear directions & info, and hosts were communicative. Perfect location right by the shops and restaurants in Madrid but still very quiet and peaceful. Great decks and tons of seating outdoors.

Fabulous house in a cool town!

What a great home! Quiet neighborhood and walking distance to town. We recommend this home to anyone planning on staying in or near Madrid, NM. We hope to stay there again in the future.

Dog friendly

Great little house with a large, fully-fenced yard. We appreciated the dogs treats and dog toys left for us. The house is walking distance to all the shops and galleries. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks again!

The owners have carefully considered every possible need and convenience of their guests. A nicely finished and outfitted home... Retaining the exterior gritty look of Madrid's mining history.

Copper Penny House enchanted our heart!

This was a great find! We loved every inch of this house. It is well organized and meticulously clean! We enjoyed the beautiful gallery of artwork from owners, Dan and Miriam. Madrid is a wonderful place to stay during the 4th of July holiday. Great place to shop for art. Peaceful and serene at night with no fireworks which was a plus! Lucy, our Westie, gives this place a 5 paws up rating! It is a great homebase to explore Santa Fe and other national parks nearby. The Copper Penny House is highly commendable!

Such a memorable place!

What a delight to stay at the Copper Penny House in Madrid, NM. It impossible to describe ahead of time just how much attention to detail and nuanced care has been crafted into this home. Miriam and Dan have thought of everything for this well-loved property. I chose this stop for a unique experience and for the fenced in yard for my pup, which was bigger and more interesting than I'd even expected. My stay was cozy and delightful in every way. Watching the sunrise on the deck the first morning was pretty magical. Comfortable bed and great shower. The kitchen had everything I needed. I enjoyed exploring Madrid, collecting some pretty and unique pieces of art from local artists, and having perhaps the best burger of my life at the local tavern. I'm so glad I didn't miss out on this one and would happily stay again.

It was great, clean, and etc. it had no laundry soap small thing but I had to get soap in 30 miles. I left the soap for another person. I left a note for the two nails in the floor wood. I did not have a hammer for your shed?? We had a great days

Peaceful and inspiring

The house is creatively decorated, well laid out and full of outdoor opportunity. Walk to the cafes and shops to enjoy food, music snd the amazing locals. The hosts Miriam and Dan are attentive and kind. We will stay again

The Best Vrbo I’ve Stayed In!

This house was truly amazing! The hosts provided so many things, and it really made us feel at home. I’ve never been to a Vrbo that really thought of every single thing! They left treats for our puppy and wine for us as a welcome gift!The house has a great backyard, and is truly dog friendly. Everything is fully fenced and we didn’t see any open spots or issues! The doggy door was such a help, even though it took our girl a little time to use it!The town of Madrid is so cute. We spent a full day exploring Madrid and Cerrillos. Highly recommend! If you’re considering the Santa Fe/Albuquerque area, choose the Copper Penny House!

Lovely

I have nothing but good things to say about this home & the owners. It’s a beautiful house in an incredible little town. My dogs loved the big yard. I really appreciate the warm welcome— especially for my dogs. They were really excited. The bed is really comfy & there weren’t insane rules about pets on the furniture— just use the covers provided and be respectful. The view is really nice & I was only a thirty minute drive from Santa Fe. Tavern and coffee spot were delicious. I am a young woman traveling with just my two dogs and I felt really safe. Thanks so much!

Fantastic spot!

Love to find gems to stay in and this penny covered house was amazing! From the comfy bed. To all that was needed for places to sit on the deck read a book or just sit in the quiet. Thank you for the small touches like wine. The place across the street had good food, drinks and music. We hope to be back again soon!

We loved our stay at the Copper Penny in Madrid, the owners are so welcoming and great with communication. Everything you need is provided and even extras such as dog treats for our pup. The views are amazing and we spent a lot of time outside

Loved staying here!

We stopped in Madrid halfway through a cross country road trip. We loved the town and were able to easily explore both Albuquerque and Santa Fe on our stopover. The town has many art galleries and restaurants and even though we were there on Sunday, there was live music all afternoon and early evening. The house itself is delightful- fantastic use of small space and packed with thoughtful amenities and interesting artwork and furnishings. The bed was very comfy, great water pressure in the shower, WiFi connection was smooth. After several days in hotels, we were ready to make a few meals and we found everything that we needed in the kitchen. For us the very best part was that our dogs could explore within the safety of a completely fenced in yard. They had a blast and our hosts had lots of amenities for them, too! We really can’t say enough nice things about our hosts: from the very accurate description of the house, great communication plus there was no burdensome list of chores to do at check out. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into making this home special. A+++ 5 star hosts for sure.

Cute penny house!

This place was perfect for us! So conveniently located to walk wherever we wanted to in Madrid. Our dogs loved being able to hang out outside without leashes and the patio is so nice.
