The municipality of Nahetal-Waldau, located in the heart of the Thuringian Forest Nature Park, consists of five small villages with a total of approximately 3,500 inhabitants, one of which is Waldau. Forest and meadow trails and a bike path are in the immediate vicinity. The Ratscher mountain lake is just 2.5 km away, and the Vessertal valley, the most beautiful valley in Central Germany, can be reached in just a few minutes. Just around the corner is the Vessertal Valley, with several beautiful circular hiking trails. The summer toboggan run in Waffenrodt and the adjacent adventure playground are a worthwhile destination, especially for families with children.
