We call our home Standing Wave. For us and our guests, staying here is a relaxing and tranquil experience. Things are calm and peaceful and yet filled with the excitement of the dramatic ocean views.

You won't believe the view, the peace & the serenity here! Come for a peaceful getaway. Enjoy all that this amazing coast has to offer. You can spend the entire day relaxing & whale watching in your private accommodations, or venture out to take full advantage of all that Sea Ranch has to offer...year-round, outdoor heated pools, hiking trails, tennis courts, and more views! You'll want to come back again & again!

Your accommodations will be in our guesthouse, on a gated, private Sea Ranch estate. We purchased this unique property because of the amazing location & privacy, and we love to share it with others. It is one of the largest oceanfront parcels at The Sea Ranch, with commanding views of the Pacific in all directions. The cottage is separated from the main house by a large meadow & rolling hills (see pictures). We are regularly treated to parades of whales & seals, deer migration, foxes, birds, and other abundant wildlife!

Your romantic cottage is studio-style, which is appointed with a wood burning fireplace, tall ceilings with open concept living & comfortable sleeping area. There is a large bathroom with double sinks, as well as a full wet room with double shower & large bathtub. The guesthouse has a kitchenette with cooktop, microwave & mini-fridge (no freezer and no oven). The entire cottage is bathed in natural light with large floor-to-ceiling windows facing the ocean. And if you decide to venture outside, there is a private deck for dining, lounging, or whale watching.

Unique and very special place with the best view I’ve ever seen from a VRBO. As restful and beautiful as the description says. Hosts are super responsive to small issues. We had one and it was very graciously and generously taken care of within 20 minutes from our call. This is now one of my most favorite VRBOs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at Ivy and Brittany's place. The VRBO listing was accurate, and all our questions were answered in detail. We were pleased to find so many nice-quality kitchen devices, sharp knives, and amenities (Cuisinart coffee bean grinder, didn't use the Keurig), and even though it wasn't a full kitchen, we were able to prepare and enjoy simple home-cooked meals while watching the sunset! We used the Weber gas barbecue once; it was spotless and worked very well. Two Duraflame logs were supplied, and we brought two more for cozy evenings. The Surf Mart in Gualala sells Duraflame logs.The Bluetooth speaker added to the relaxing atmosphere, and so we never once switched on the TV. Just relaxing, enjoying the view and the fireplace, reading, playing games, talking.... making for a perfect break from the usual routine. Internet connection was good, though be aware that once you leave the cottage (depending on your cell service) you might be off the grid (which can be a good thing!). The interior design was in tune with the surroundings, the bed was very comfortable (mattress, linens, and pillows), and the bathroom was huge! Everything was in good condition and very clean. Walking Sea Ranch paths along the shoreline, a short trip to Pt Arena Lighthouse and Bowling Ball Beach (check the tide report), dinner at Sea Ranch Lodge (live jazz trio in the lobby - music every Thursday - book a table well in advance) a perfect Sea Ranch experience!

We have stayed in many ocean front homes along the California and Oregon Coast. This is by far the best ocean view of them all. Crashing waves on the rocks. So beautiful. We will be back. For sure! The refrigerator is quite spacious for an under the counter unit. There is no freezer on top which would account for the extra room. So. We brought our portable stand alone ice maker. The last thing that we wanted to do was to leave this gorgeous home and go to the store just for ice. Perfect for drinks and for keeping our cooler cool with some crushed ice for the trip home to Napa. We stored it under the table. Out of the way, and out of sight, as there is very little counter space. The bathroom was well laid out and beautiful. Double sinks. Large countertop. Nice tub. Large tiled shower. Very nice. The bed was comfortable. With a view of the ocean. Television was placed so that it didn’t interfere with the view. It was easy to connect my Firestick.

We loved the abundant daylight in the living space. The view to the ocean and the ‘standing wave’ formations on the stunning and ragged coastline were mesmerizing. We sat in the Adirondack chairs every sunny day, of which all the days of our stay were. The privacy of the property is remarkable.

It’s hard to find words to describe the magic of this special place. From the impeccable design choices to the wonderfully friendly and responsive hosts, it was altogether a truly unique and fabulous stay. The show stopper of course is the magnificent view of the ocean, with mesmerizing sunsets and peaceful sunrises over the bluff. But we also appreciated the luxurious bathroom with dual showers and a jacuzzi tub, as well as the kitchenette and grill. And the beautiful Sea Ranch lodge is only a short walk away.
