We wanted to stay in the area as my partner has family routes there , we especially wanted to walk along Seaham beach . The location of the tower was perfect, beautiful countryside and such a unique place to stay.
Brilliant place to stay as a family, very clean and lovely place to stay, location by a private farm in the sticks youโre surrounded by grass, views, water and horses itโs beautiful. Great size accommodation and with modern kitchen and bathroom making staying here great. Located close to mainly areas, Beamish, Newcastle, Durham etc.
Canโt recommend this place enough a lovely cozy warm stay.
This place is even more beautiful and unique than the pictures! We had an incredible stay here and really loved the location, wildlife and surroundings. Very clean and well kept, tastefully decorated and made for an unforgettable visit. Would love to come back one day!
Our second stay at this lovely tower. So quiet, amazing views, we love it here.
Walks a plenty and such a lovely space to relax. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay.
Fabulous stay in this unique folly! it was lovely to see the sea and horses from the windows each day and there was plenty of activities to keep the children entertained close by - especially finding sea glass treasure on the local beaches.
Lovely short stay, super clean and cosy and fab location, total privacy and ease of access. gorgeous coastal circular walk - and into Seaham if wanted.
lovey to be amongst the horses also - wonderful break for all the fam if you like peaceful cosy stays
Thank you for providing such a beautiful holiday let in a peaceful, idyllic setting! Exactly what was needed to unwind and relax surrounded by stunning countryside and view of the seaโฃ๏ธ
Really cosy and fun place to stay. Extremely clean, great amenities. The surrounding area was lovely and made for some great hikes. Everything worked nicely. Would recommend to anyone and I would definitely stay again
The folly is quirky, cosy, peaceful, beautifully kept and so clean. It's really comfortable and the views are delightful. Perfect location for exploring Durham and the surrounds, with the coastal footpath close by. Highly recommend.
The tower is decorated lovely, it's comfortable, homely and immaculately clean with everything we needed in the kitchen. Set away from any main road it's perfect for quiet down time surrounded by fields. It's perfectly situated for visiting lots of beaches nearby and a short drive to Durham and the famous Seaham Hall beach for collecting sea glass.
Amazing property. We loved staying here and would happily book again. Very well placed for a beach-combing holiday. As described. Very clean. Good heating for a cold weather break.
Wonderful, quirky property. Extremely clean and well equipped. Cosy and comfortable. No blinds or curtains in bedroom which is in keeping with the style of the building however, if like me, you are used to sleeping in a dark bedroom then I would recommend you bring an eye mask. Lovely location with lots of nice walks and rides out. Seaham is particularly pretty. Would whole heartedly recommend a visit.Very reasonably priced for the uniqueness of the property
We had a lovely stay even though the weather was stormy. The folly is beautiful and had everything we needed. The host has put heating on for our arrival and also helped us to find it in the dark which was much appreciated. The views from the property are amazing. Seaview and horses outside. We felt really comfortable and cozy and we'll definitely be back.
This is a beautiful property which is extremely peaceful. The horses were a lovely bonus. The one thing that would have made it perfect was if you could get up to the top to really see the amazing views. We would definitely come back.
Wow! What a beautiful accommodation! Pictures dont do it justice. So clean and comfortable. Me and my husband stayed here for a weekend celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. Would highly recommend anyone to stay if you are looking for a picturesque, peaceful break away.
We would love to stay here again one day. Thank you ๐
We absolutely loved our stay here, the house/folly was really lovely, clean and well equipped. I had read on another review the bedrooms had no curtains so we took some bin bags and popped them at the windows, would recommended doing this if you like to sleep in darkness!
We would definitely be back and book again as our kids loved it and the horses! Thanks fkr a lovely stay ๐
We've stayed in this absolute gem of a "mini castle" (as our kids call it) and will definitely stay again.
Cute, cosy, well appointed, loads of character, near some beautiful walks, no neighbours but some horses..... what more could you want!
Owners brought us up a set of scales to do some new years eve party baking within 20 minutes of calling them.
5 stars all the way.
Such a lovely place, in the centre of fields with horses grazing peacefully around making the setting perfect!
10 mins on foot to the beach (to go sea glass hunting) and 10 mins in the car to Morrisons. The beach is pebble and it has a steep incline so if (like me) you suffer with bad knees, you need to take care but it can be done. I have a tween and a teen and they loved the setting enough to put their phones down and enjoy family time ๐ Durham Castle & Cathedral are also well worth the visit. Will definitely be back as thereโs more to see and we ran out of time ๐
Had a lovely stay here. Easy to get to. Great location for getting around. Just a few niggles. The mechanism for the shower head to work was broken. We managed though. No window coverings in the bedroom. No microwave which is handy when away. And the toilet roll ran out day before we left. Glad we brought our own. All in all a great stay just being picky.
Beautiful location, well appointed quirky property
The location was beautiful and the property comfortable and a good size. It was a shame that they were stingy with loo roll ( only 1 roll for a 3 night stay). Comments relating to the shower have been made over several years and it is not clear why the simple repair needed has not been carried out. The code for the gate was incorrect in the visitor info and we had to call them at 11pm. A dish drainer would have been useful.
