Staff at Ocean View are great. The hotel needs updating but is clean and room was good. However hotel swimming pool is closed and has been for some time. Also the hotel only does breakfast. We had booked to chill at the hotel use their restaurant and pool unfortunately this didn’t happen. Just needs to update advertising so on knows what to expect. View from room is fantastic which helped.

Everything was perfect apart from we got up to late for breakfast and couldn't get a coffee. But there was a little coffee shop in the hotel next door open so not the end of the world. Kettle in the room would've been nice but wouldn't put me off staying again. Good value for money.

Great views from the bedroom towards the sea (apart from the infamous Shanklin lift shaft). Sun rise while lying in bed was fantastic to see. Staff were great and the food was good. Although some areas were a little worn and could do with a bit of TLC, it was very clean and tidy.

Rooms were average Breakfast- super delayed , all dishes were dirty- not just one or two. We stayed for two nights , both the mornings the breakfast was so delayed and they couldn’t manage the number of guests. The staff tried their best to give us good service but there was only so much they could. Poor management Wouldn’t recommend to stay here

The hotel is currently under renovation but the work did not interrupt the stay. The room was clean and adaquate, but things like the curtains and carpets need attention. The staff were very helpful and polite. There weren’t many people staying there so it was very quiet and easy to park, but I should imagine parking would be difficult in peak season as spaces were very limited compared to the size of the hotel. The bar was well stocked, but the bar area/room needed decorating. The hotel is in a very convenient position with lovely sea views. I would stay there again.

Parking was easy as the hotel was empty. The pool was closed and this was an important part of the decision to stay there so very disappointing. The view was incredible and the best part. Breakfast waitress was excellent and very attentive. Very helpful chap on duty in the evening as well. Lovely cooked breakfast and croissants. Weird balcony set up left me concerned, as our bathroom window was inside next doors balcony area and not ours!! I think this was only our room though? Very close to town and pubs and shops..

The Ocean View Hotel is in a good location, but unfortunately the property itself feels extremely dated and in need of a full refurbishment. The hotel looks very old, and most of the amenities are worn down from years of use. Furnishings, décor, and fittings appear tired and outdated, which takes away from what could otherwise be a pleasant stay. While the views and location are nice, the overall condition of the hotel does not meet modern expectations. A complete renovation would greatly improve the comfort, appearance, and overall guest experience. As it stands, the hotel feels neglected and does not offer good value for money.

Reception staff left us standing at reception for 20 mins to check in. No verbal communication. Just handed keys and piece of paper with instructions. Room VERY tired and dated. Carpet dirty old, thin and poorly fitted. I didn't want to walk on it with bare feet. Balcony and balcony chairs dirty. Chairs were old plastic patio chairs and were dirty. No privacy on balcony from rooms next door. Very noisy. Only single glazed windows so didn't shut out noise. Techno music thumping away til midnight from a function directly below our room. Breakfast.....waited 25mins to order breakfast. No one came up to us, we had to ask to place order. Other people came in after us and we're served before us. Nowhere to park car in hotel carpark. Only 12 spaces for whole hotel. Had to park two streets away and carry luggage. Will NOT stay here again or recommend to anyone. Overall a very disappointing stay.

Lovely holiday!

Absolutely wonderful stay. Very clean room, just needed to request extra pillows, which were provided and made sleeping much easier. Quiet room, wonderful sounds of seagulls in the morning. A lovely view of the sea through one window! So pleasant, and a great location!
