Ideal family cottage

Owners were delightful - friendly and helpful. Cottage spacious, especially downstairs, and had lovely outdoor seating areas and views. Nice being on a working farm and we fed the pigs and enjoyed watching the lambs in the field behind the cottage. We'd recommend it for families with young children as there is plenty of safe space to play. We'd certainly go there again.

We absolutely loved this holiday cottage on a working farm and were made to feel very welcome by own

We absolutely loved this holiday cottage on a working farm and were made to feel very welcome by owners Terry and Janette. Four of us stayed for a week at the end of September, although we had three available bedrooms to sleep six. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed to eat and stay in during the dark evenings. We did venture out a couple of times at night but discovered that some of the local pub restaurants closed quite early so we drove into Sherborne (12 - 15 mins away). Some of the rural approach roads are quite narrow and passing was a bit tricky, especially tractors in the daytime. We would definitely stay here again. We had a lovely week at Cowleaze.

We had a lovely week at Cowleaze. The cottage was clean and well furnished. The garden was enclosed and safe - it is shared with the other two cottages which was nice as my daughter made friends with the neighbour's kids. We enjoyed playing in the barn, and feeding the goats and pigs. The owners were very friendly, but gave us privacy. Downsides: there was no information pack provided - this may have been removed due to covid (but instructions for the oven etc remained?). It would have been useful to have a map of the farm to show where we were allowed to go. There was no stairgate which made things difficult with our littlest one. We had to strip our own beds at the end of the week which I found odd. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We’ve just returned from a fabulous week in Cowleaze cottage.

We’ve just returned from a fabulous week in Cowleaze cottage. Having stayed in holiday homes before I was ready to have to do a clean before unpacking... but there was no need. The place was spotless and so comfy. There was everything we needed for our stay. The cottage and surrounding were so safe for children. The four kids in our party loved the independence of being able to run round and play. The woodland walk was fabulous and the kids absolutely loved feeding the animals. We were made to feel so welcome. I have only marked the local amenities and location down slightly as it is very rural and you need your car for every journey. Which wasn’t a problem for us.
