"Great place to stay. I'm not into fancy or boujee hotels, so when i give this place 5 stars, i'm not talking about a $1000 a night gold plated Hilton hotel room. I'm going to be using the room to sleep in, and chill after a day of adventuring. This hotel checks all the boxes for that. Good location right off the 80 in west Truckee. Easy parking. Comfy beds. Mini fridge and microwave. Continental breakfast with muffins, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches or burritos. Some fruit, coffee, cocoa. Staff is cool af. There are some good food options in walking distance. Safeway, old Truckee, and such are a few minute drive. For what i'm after, this is a great hotel. "
"We loved our cute little quaint room. It was decorated so beautifully and we really enjoyed our stay. It was clean and spacious. We will definitely come back!"
"The room was very clean and cozy. We were there on a cold week and the room had great climate control to keep us warm. The bed was comfortable offering a good night sleep. "
Hale Mauka - Family-friendly 3BD/2BA House With Modern Furnishings
10/10 Excellent
"Hale Mauka is as wonderful for a families as all the reviews suggest. With three teenage sons between our two families, my brother's and my family had a memorable Christmas with several feet of snow, lots of good food that was easy to prepare in the well-equipped kitchen, and many hours of board games played on the nice big dining room table. Ed and Bernadette were kind and responsive hosts. I also appreciated the details that made it all work well - ample soft towels, lots of lanterns and a wood burning stove to make it through the power outage comfortably in the big snow storm, a great house layout for two families with room for separate and together time. "
Lakeview Capone Getaway, great sledding on property, fun loft for kids, Lg deck
10/10 Excellent
"The house is cozy and comfortable with a beautiful view and balcony. Adults, teens and kids enjoyed sledding down the hill on the property and walking around the lake. Ski rental shops and ski resorts are nearby. We cooked a lot in the kitchen, which is fairly well equipped. Heating and WiFi are good; we especially enjoyed sitting around the pellet stove-heated living area with its lovely view. The owners were very responsive and allowed us to use their power generator during the power outages this winter. This is our second time spending a week here over Christmas break and we plan to come back! We will bring more TP next time, though. "
