  • This Gulf Front condo recently underwent a renovation that boasts new granite counter-tops and cabinets in the kitchen and both bathrooms, new carpeting throughout and freshly painted walls. Enjoy the new flat panel LCD T.V. and DVD player in the living-room, as well as the comfortable leather furniture. The bedrooms have new bedding with a flat panel T.V. in the master, with a Queen size bed and the guest bedroom with two Twin size beds. After a long day on the beach, be sure to take in a beautiful Siesta Key sunset right from your own private balcony.

Great View!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great view from the balcony. Every employee I spoke to from maintenance to front desk were great, polite, friendly and eager to help. The main office even printed some schoolwork off on their printer for us! Pool was heated and never very crowded. Beach was beautiful. Water in February did not look very blue, more of a greenish brown and pretty cold. We went in a little anyways. Wish they had a hot tub! Unit was very clean, even with the carpet. There were no supplies left from other tenants, I guess due to covid. The unit had nothing except furniture, no games, no cards, no paper, no hair dryer, no menus, nothing! Just empty drawers. They only stock a couple rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. The mirrors on all the walls made the rooms look bigger but were a little confusing at the hallway, and we almost walked into the wall a few times! There were 2 broken chairs laying on the balcony when we arrived, rusted all the way thru so the only seating was the table and 4 chairs on the side. Had a few kids running the hallway after midnight a couple nights but quiet area otherwise. Convenient to walk across street to Captain Curt to eat seafood and listen to live music or walk a couple blocks to Toasted Mango cafe for all day breakfast or lunch. Chairs filled up on beach pretty quickly, although many seemed to be saved chairs with stuff on them but no people in the few hours we would be there.

Needs more upgrades and the blue carpet needs to finally replaced, the cleaners have a hard job to get it to clean standards! Painting walls would not hurt either! Washer and dryer still work, but very old and rusty!

UNIT 414 a stressful stay. TOO MANY PROBLEMS. UNDATES NEEDED

Reviewer Comments: **The Management Company that oversees ‘House of the Sun’ was amazing and quick to fix all the problems that my husband and I had while staying at UNIT 414! They should be commended for their excellence in customer service.Day 1 – Saturday very disappointed with the unit and how it needed updating. No king size bed and carpeting that was old.The master bath shower plumbing was broke & drain in 2nd bath did not drain.Day 2 – My husband took his coffee out on the balcony to relax. And, with the straw chair that he was sitting on, the back leg actually disintegrated into little powdered particles. He fell back hit his head on the patio window, cut the back side of his arm which was bleeding and had a hard time getting it to stop. HE WAS SO LUCKY THAT THE PATIO DOOR DID NOT BREAK, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS SITUATION! Day 3 – The Management's maintenance man came up to the unit and removed all the straw chairs from the balcony, they were all aged and dry rotted.Day 4 – No issuesDay 5 – Towels needed to be washed. Two sets of towels and hand towels in to be washed. The dryer after an hour did not dry the towels even on high. Had to hang the towels up to dry on a hanger.Later that day, we notice the unit was getting pretty hot and the unit would not cool past 82-84 degrees. It was not feasible to spend the night in the unit. We made an emergency call that evening to the Management Company and they responded pretty quickly and sent the maintenance man up to try to fix it. He came and nothing he did would fix it. The management company arranged for us to stay in another unit for the night, The air conditioner company came the next day and fixed it.I was supposed to go down there and rest and be stress free on my doctor’s orders. We spent so much of our vacation trying to get this unit fixed. WE WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.Our advice to vacationers to stay out of

Unit #414 is a big disappointment!

The kitchen & guest bathroom are updated & beautiful, however, the rest of the condo leaves a lot to be desired. All of the furniture in the living room is so uncomfortable, we couldn’t sit in it. The t.v.s are so small & there was no t.v. In the guest bedroom. Only a queen in the master bedroom, mismatched & “missing” furniture throughout the condo. There is. I design to this condo, just, random things on the wall. They tried to remodel the master bathroom, but, totally missed the mark on that. The countertop clashes with the rest of the tile work. Ugly maroon & navy carpeting. I blame the owners for the condition owners of this condo. I will not be renting this unit again. What I did like about HOS is the location, property is well maintained & clean, front office is very friendly & accommodating. We’ve been staying here since about 1978.

The beach was phenomenal and we loved being in the water with the stingrays. It was nice to have everything we needed right across the street. We loved Anna’s deli and Captain Curt’s restaraunt. The unit was very clean, we did have an issue of plumbing backing into the bathtub when we used the washing machine. Definitely coming back again!!

Late Summer Getaway

First time we had stayed in #414. The furniture inside was "small" and low to the floor. The patio furniture cushions were picked at by the birds which left their feces on the chairs daily. Maybe chairs with no padded pillows. The master bath had a nice pedestal sink but no storage. With that said we will be back again, just in another unit.

We’ve been coming here for 20 years and House of the Sun is always clean and well maintained. My kids were a little disappointed that all of the games in the game room were gone except for the ping pong table. The location is great with shops, ice cream, cafes and restaurants in walking distance across the street. Overall, a great stay.

414GF August 2020 Vacation Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family has been visiting Siesta Key and staying in this condo (414GF) nearly every summer for the last several years. The location and views are wonderful. I will say that this was the first year that we were a little disappointed in the master suite accommodation. There used to be two beds in the master suite and this year there was only one queen bed and it was very firm and very uncomfortable. Neither my husband or I slept well. We just felt that if you’re only going to offer one bed that it should at least be a King offering more space for two adults. I think last year we purchased a mattress topper for one of the beds in the master during our stay because it was so firm and uncomfortable and we left it there. But it wasn’t on the bed that was in there this year. We have decided to book elsewhere for our 2021 Siesta Key vacation.
