Area is probably a little more mixed - the hotel themselves don’t recommend walking on the street alone after dark. We just took uber point to point and we were fine. This hotel is a walking distance or short Uber ride to lots of attractions like BoKaap, v&a waterfront, district 6 museum, castle of good hope and also a short walk to the main train/bus station.
