Set on 2 acres, our home is a short walk to Norman Rockwell Museum and Chesterwood. All rooms have hardwood floors except the tiled bathrooms. We recently updated the kitchen, and previously remodeled both bathrooms with a 'vintage modern' aesthetic. Our home is furnished with a mix of antiques, vintage items and contemporary pieces.
More details on the 3 bedrooms + office:
- 1st floor bedroom with king bed open to dressing area (guests have used dressing area for young ones in our Pack 'n Play)
- 2nd floor sage/white bedroom with full bed
- 2nd floor khaki/red bedroom that can be configured as a king or 2 twins
- 1st floor office with desk and daybed that uses a twin mattress. Underneath is a twin trundle that stays low-to-the-floor when pulled out. There is no door, just a privacy curtain, and it is right off the kitchen
More details on the 2 Bathrooms:
- 1st floor: This is somewhat en suite; when you open the kitchen back door, you look into the dressing room of the bedroom pictured on the website. The bathroom is located of a small hall to the right. We typically use this bathroom as a communal bathroom during the daytime. It has a shower, no tub.
- 2nd floor: It has a tub/shower combination.
Details for guests with mobility issues: the first floor of the house is on slightly different levels given additions made over time. As a result, there is:
- one step up into the kitchen from the living room
- one step down from the kitchen into the office
- three steps down from the 1st floor dressing area into the bed area (you can get a sense from the picture on the website - the bookcase is in the dressing area, and the stairs to the left)
Details for guests with children: There is no door at the top of the stairs on the second floor, and it is not possible to use a safety gate given the design of the railing.
Guest access
We use one upstairs closet for supplies and some personal items.
