The downstairs area encompasses a contemporary, compact and well-equipped kitchen, a dining area positioned in front of one of the windows and a cosy snug area with comfortable, adjustable sofa, ottoman and multi-fuel stove. No matter where you position yourself you cannot help but be drawn towards the views of the sea from every window. The clever styling throughout will soon draw your attention back, for example, the feature wall lighting installation, from a repurposed wooden lintel, is inspirational. Browse through the book selection provided for local information to plan your days ahead whilst enjoying the warmth of the stove. The bright and airy bedroom is accessed by the spiral staircase. Each window has sea views bringing light in to the room. The bed is positioned so that when reclined in bed it is possible to experience the changing light of the Orkney sky. Open the windows to hear the water lap on the shore, the bird calls and to appreciate the wonderful sea air.
Please note, due to the age and character of the property the spiral staircase is very steep and extra care must be taken.

St Margaret’s Hope, the third largest settlement on Orkney, Studio House is within easy walking distance to shops, an art gallery, places to dine; including a local pub and coffee shop. At low tide the beach in front of the house provides an opportunity for beach combing. High tide provides easy access to the water which is so tempting for swimmers or paddlers who want to explore the coastline. Accessed by steps to the side of the house is a community garden, it is a tranquil spot to read or pass through on the way to the shop, pub, café or restaurant.
Please note, due to the property being around 200 years old, the spiral staircase is quite tight and extra caution should be taken.
