"We were given an upgrade...very thankful for the huge room. Great air conditioning unit..plus fans. Staff were all happy and helpful. A special thank you to Isuru from the Rooftop Restaurant and Bar. He helped me choose the right Sri Lankan option at breakfast...it was fantastic and a lot of food...all superbly cooked by the chefs. "Hotel was welcoming, stylish and located a couple of minutes from the best side of the beach. The rooms are a little smaller than they appear on the photos but spotlessly clean, modern and well equipped. The atmosphere and cocktails were great, & breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Hotel staff were incredibly friendly and could not do enough to help - particular thanks to Imash for his help and advice."

Le Grand Galle

10/10 Excellent

"Great property within a short walk / tuk tuk ride from the main city attractions. Our experience started with a seamless airport pick up. The room was spacious and overlooked the sea. We upgraded to one of the suites later ( highly recommended ) which come with its own private pool and a small lawn attached, with views of the sea. The restaurant- Taste, located at the lobby restaurant served some good food. We specially enjoyed the local cuisine like lump rice, sri lankan prawn curry etc. The half board plan includes a set menu, which has some good variety. A buffet is served on Saturdays for dinner. We did not try the other restaurant - Blue as it opens only for dinner and shuts by 9.30. The menu looked good though and it a sea food restaurant. There is a cocktail hour between 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm which is free for the hotel guests ( not just the the club suites, but all guests) which was a good touch. The staff is excellent and accommodated every request we had. The pool is good, with a small jacuzzi as well. Would highly recommend the hotel, for its location, staff and good rooms."

"I had a really lovely stay at Ocean Bliss by Sugar Co-living in Weligama. The property has a beautiful beachfront atmosphere with a calm, boho-style design that feels very different from a normal hotel. The rooms are clean, cozy, and nicely designed, with a relaxed coastal feeling. The best part is the location. It is close to the ocean, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing, working remotely, or enjoying a slow beach holiday. The Wi-Fi was good, and the shared spaces made it easy to feel comfortable during the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall experience felt personal rather than commercial. It is a great place for couples, solo travelers, digital nomads, and anyone looking for a calm stay near Weligama beach. I would definitely recommend Ocean Bliss for guests who want a stylish, peaceful, and beachside stay in Sri Lanka."

Cape Weligama - Relais and Chateaux

"Beautiful location surrounded by stunning nature, with amazing rooms and a breakfast of a very high standard. However, the grounds and overall maintenance do not reflect the level expected from a Relais & Châteaux or Michelin Key property. There were dry leaves and weeds throughout the territory, and several trees appeared infested or dying. For such a large estate, there should clearly be more gardeners and stronger attention to maintenance and cleanliness. The lunch and dinner offerings were also disappointing considering the prices charged. At this level, the quality should match the cost. In particular, dishes prepared with raw tuna were served with the fish appearing brown rather than bright red or pink. As a cook myself, I know this indicates oxidation and a lack of freshness. I was also surprised that the concierge sent me an unsolicited bill via WhatsApp the night before checkout while I was still relaxing and my departure was only the following morning. At high-end properties, the guest experience is usually handled in a far more seamless and discreet manner. I have stayed at several Relais & Châteaux hotels before, and unfortunately this was among the weakest experiences in terms of service and guest handling. I would recommend taking inspiration from the Constance hotel group, particularly Prince Maurice, which understands luxury hospitality and guest relations at a much higher standard."
