"Our cabin was very comfortable. We are urban "senior citizens" not used to having a wood stove for heat and gravel roads, but we enjoyed the change a lot! Beautiful view from the back deck and friendly wallabies a plus."
Leighton House, an unforgettable luxury farm stay in Northern Tasmania, Evandale
10/10 Excellent
"Host was very friendly and extremely accommodating. The house was perfect and in beautiful surroundings. We had an amazing stay. We definitely recommend this wonderful house and would love to stay again one day. "
"The house was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and had all the amenities we needed.
As a group of 7 we were more than comfortable with the 2.5 bathrooms, 3 larger bedrooms, with one of the rooms furnished with a queen bed and bunk beds. The fireplace was perfect for cold nights and the kitchen well stocked. The kids enjoyed the board games and puzzles. I loved the cook books, books, and travelogues lying around. As Melbournians we appreciated the coffee machine and the fresh coffee beans for a delicious cuppa every morning of our stay."
"To start with, the description of the apartment is totally misleading. We chose the "stunning views" in case the weather was bad. The "stunning views" from the apartment are of a section of formal garden with a clipped hedge around the rotary clothes line. We had expected rural views.. The delay in providing directions and entry information came too late. We had packed our computers and were on the road to the overnight ferry to Tasmania--a 3 hour drive. This delay was extremely stressful. We received a telephone map on the phone while driving but it was just of the general area. The microwave oven on top of the refrigerator is difficult to access. A hook or rail is needed for the teatowel. There were only 7 teabags for two people for a 10 night stay. There was no house info package in the apartment. The TV turned itself on every day at noon whether we were there or not. When a piercing alarm started we thought it was the smoke alarm and rang the emergency number and were told to climb up and switch it off! This would have been very dangerous. There was no broom to try and switch it off. The alarm continued for about half an hour until the owners came home and turned it off. It was their sewerage system alarm. We found the heating oppressive and the emergency contact told us to refer to the information whch was then sent us--21 pages, but all it said was that heating system was supplied. We just wanted to turn it down. The doona was extremely heavy and kept slipping off."
