1) The staff made me pull over on the side of the road and check in on a website. I have extra-large hands, spanning eight inches, and arthritis in my thumbs. I find it difficult to type on a cell phone. Therefore, I used my laptop on my cell's hotspot from a parking lot in my vehicle. Three attempts with the FireFox web browser hung or failed. I finally registered using Chrome. 40 minutes wasted. The website required PHOTOS of my credit card and drivers license. I did not see a privacy policy. I have had numerous trips in North America, Mexico, Brazil, and Europe. This was the most horrendous checkin I have ever experienced. The next day I had Teams meetings with Europe. The wi-fi was tested at 550 Kilo-bits per second. Luckily StarLink Portable saved the day. The office is only open from 3pm to 8pm. The "Kitchenette" does not have a cooking device. If a plug-in induction unit was added to the room, then the kitchenette would have an advantage over a regular hotel. The hotel seems to use a traditional geosynchronous internet satellite service, which explains the poor performance. If they upgraded to StarLink, they could get usable performance for about the same price. There are self-service kiosk checkin options that could be used instead of the website. I texted the hotel to delete me credit card and id information, and got no response. I am going to get a new credit card number as a result. I will not be staying here again.
