Great vacation house

We enjoyed our stay at the Rivah House! Great view of the James. We especially enjoyed the games provided and played one almost every night. Appreciate that the house is also pet-friendly, so my girl could join the family vacation!

Lovely visit

We very much enjoyed our stay at River House. The view of the James River was spectacular and the house was cozy and very comfortable. I loved riding the ferry over to Jamestown and Williamsburg, The hosts are first rate and very helpful. Loved sitting in the very comfortable living room and watching the eagles, osprey and other birds flying around the river. Great vacation place!

Great getaway!

This was an awesome home nestled just far enough away from civilization but still close enough to access whatever you needed. The home was very clean and well-maintained and had a marvelous view of the James river. The host was very hospitable and extremely quick to answer any inquiries.

Secluded, peaceful cabin

We had a great time at the cabin. We really enjoyed the wraparound deck and full wall view of river from living and dining rooms downstairs. The binoculars and telescope were a nice addition to check out the view. Comfortable beds and linens. Ideal if you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway. We loved it.

Family getaway

Our trip was wonderful, and the rental home exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect fit for my large family, and everyone truly enjoyed their stay. Cozy Lake house

We enjoyed our one night stay between visits to Busch Gardens and Water Country. The house and decor are older, but everything was clean and felt very cozy and comfortable. It was nice having a bedroom with lots of beds for a family with young children. Beautiful view of the water!

Hidden Gem

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Williamsburg and stay here! A very seamless and quick (free) car ferry ride across the James to get to Busch Gardens and Jamestown. This place is great for families. There is even a basketball hoops the kids enjoyed! Lots of space to move and very quiet and serene. We tried 2/3 restaurants in town, both good. Neighbors were friendly and lots of charm. Amanda was fabulous to work with during our stay.

Virginian Vacation

Our two families drive down from NH and MA. The house was a perfect set up for our group. We took the ferry into Jamestown and surrounding areas to explore the historic sites and enjoy Busch Gardens. Beautiful sunrise over the river each morning. Our host was great with communication. The downstairs did get buggy near the sliders towards the end of our stay.

An ideal family vacation cabin.

This secluded hideaway cabin is obviously a home with years of accumulation of entertainment and home away from home necessities. Despite its age, it was incredibly clean. If vacationing in the Williamsburg area, the ferry is fun and adds to the “family entertainment”. Although the commute is a hike, the home feeling rather than commercial hotel is absolutely worth the trade off. The hostess was available to respond to any questions. As planned renovations come about, it can only enhance anyone’s vacation. Highly recommend for a family getaway!

Beautiful location!

We had a wonderful time! The property was very clean, and the views were incredible! It was so fun riding the ferry to Jamestown and finding a beach area right off the ferry for the kids to play in.

This was the perfect house for our family vacation. The granddaughters loved the mermaid room with the 4 beds so they could all sleep the together. The beds were comfy, and the views were beautiful!

My kids and grandkids especially loved this property! the river view and especially the bird watching from the wrap around deck was amazing - my son counted over 31 species of birds, including 2 he'd never seen before! the house was very clean and had lots of extras like board and card games and an awesome propane grill. We had a minor TV issue the first night and the host provided a brand new TV the next morning! Responsiveness was very much appreciated. We as grandparents loved the ground floor bedroom we immediately appropriated so we could get in and out easily with our pups. Having a 2nd fridge was really useful as we had to stock up to feed 14 people for several days. We had a wonderful multi-generational family week there. Many thanks to Amanda and her family for allowing us to gather in her family's long-time home in Spring Grove!

Family Vacation

The house was perfect for our kids and grandbabies. The views of the James River were fantastic. Everyone loved it and we will certainly have a wonderful memory of our time spent there.
