Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy

Extremely Disappointed

We arrived at 4pm check-in to find out that the property had just begun to be cleaned. The owners reached out 2 hours prior to check-in, let me know that the "cleaning team" was running behind and working on the property. (There was one person, who I could not communicate with easy). My family and I waited in our cars outside. In the meantime we took our dogs to the back yard. Unfortunately the backyard was not mowed and there were nettles everywhere sticking to us and the dogs. The yeard front and back was not taken care of, and there were parts of the fence completely gone or down. I messaged the owner, but there was no response. I tried contacting a few more times, but no response. The response I received was that they were contacting the cleaning company to see how much longer. At about 4:45pm an additional 2 people were dropped off with cleaning products. We asked how much longer, they kept telling us 15 minutes. at about 5:30pm we asked to see inside the property. When we did, we were very disappointed. The place may have been clean, but the furniture was flimsy, and the house smelt like fried fish. I messaged the owners and again no response. At this point I contacted VRBO and sent them pictures as requested. VRBO reached out to the owners a few times on 2 different numbers, but they relieved no answer. My family who flew from CT, TX and us from SC had, had it. We ended up having to stay in Jacksonville, scramble for Thanksgiving and still no response and no refund!!
