Nice getaway

House was great for our short trip. Having are own pool was fantastic and the short walk to the beach was great. Loved St. George Island. We can’t wait to come back!

Needs attention

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House is in major need of repairs. The pool is concrete and coming out of the ground in places. It is a large pool for the area which is a positive. The wood deck around the pool and decks are warped and coming up. Dangerous for kids. Umbrellas did not work. The back yard has no shade so this was an issue. Trash around pool and under deck. Chairs on deck are old metal and uncomfortable. Landscaping is very lacking in the back yard. We had a ceiling leak first night we were there in the kitchen. Showers are small. Tv in bedroom is very small and never worked while we were there. We called and no one came out. Floor in kitchen has a lip that we tripped on occasionally. WiFi was not strong enough for electronics. If you’re going to the island with only intentions of not being in the house except to sleep, this house will do. The comfort level is not great. You get what you pay for.

Fantastic Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 2nd time renting this beach property :-) The views of the water are amazing and loved having a private pool. The only downside was that a new home is being built (left and beachfront) and the construction noise was loud; even in the beach with the crashing waves. Had to leave and find another public beach access by car. Some of the water views will be blocked but, thankfully, the beach access will save a lot of the wonderful views :-)Window units work great and we didn’t need to use the HVAC at all. Bring a “grill topper” since the grates are very rusty. We cannot wait to visit again... hopefully the construction on the new house will be complete :-)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was immaculately clean. The decorations were bright and cheerful. If you have children you may want to note that the decking around the pool is uneven and the lofted bedroom with twin beds is scary for kids to use as they would have to descend the steep stairs/ladder. The upper bedroom would probably be suited to ages 13+. These were not major issues for us - we all stayed on the main floor with two bedrooms. The location is lovely - just far enough away from the business area to feel peaceful but close enough to walk or bike. There is a short beach path and a wagon is provided - the beach is absolutely beautiful. Overall we were very happy with our stay and had everything we needed.

While it could do with some updating, everything was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. The pool is THE BEST thing about the house! Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I loved my stay there and will be booking again in the future. I really only have 3 minor issues, and I mean these are just minor issues. 1- would loved to have been able to access the crows nest on top of the house for watching the sunrise and sunsets but it is an older house and does need a few things fixed. 2- The privacy fence around the pool in the pictures is not there and it would be better with the full fence back up. 3- There were only a handful of channels for the TV, which wouldnt have been an issue other than the couple of days it rained and I hung around the house mostly. I will say the pool is awesome and I love how deep it is and you actually have room to move around unlike a lot of the other pools on the island.

My husband called the after hours number with no reply back. Killed one cockroach in the bathroom 3 one kitchen counter. My children found a huge cockroach upstairs in the loft area. The rat made its way upstairs and left poop on kitchen floor. We left early because we couldn’t sleep worrying about rats and cockroaches crawling on us. The deck around the pool needs updated. Boards missing pieces. My kids got tons of splinters from them.

Older Nice House But Needs Attention Soon

Had to place bowls around to catch the dripping water from raining. It appears to have been doing it for some time, the paint was peeling in a lot of places on the ceiling and was discolored.

Reviewer Comments: Loved our stay at Key Largo 🥰PROS: window units keep it very cool 🥶(did NOT have to use central air 🤑), windows boarded up kept it cooler and we still had plenty of natural sunlight 🤩 the pool is absolutely AMAZING 😍, the views were AMAZING from all decks (didn’t go up the attic stairs to top deck since we are NOT very comfortable with those stairs ... being older and retired folks ... gravity is not our friend 🥹 but if we had been stuck up there for a while, the outside shower would have been a plus 🤣) place was very clean, cute folded towels on each bed, kitchen had plenty of cooking pots/pans, plates, utensils. There is a Keurig and regular coffee maker as well ☕️ a very nice beach cart is in laundry room as well. CONS: grill near the pool is falling apart... very dangerous and only used it once (couldn’t clean it out or fear of it falling apart). The other heavy-duty grill is VERY rusted & tried to use aluminum foil (unsuccessfully ☹️). Didn’t notice anything to clean the grills out; Shower rod in queen room kept falling down. I notified management on our 3rd morning and they reported it (couldn’t grill out the remainder of our trip though 💔). We prefer save money and not eat out at all ... especially with such a fantastic view 🏖️ 🥰The folks complaining about it being “older” are welcome to rent “updated” places... folks on a beer budget with champagne tastes are always complaining 🤑

Descent for the price

Location is great, but house needs major updates. Beds and sofas are all terrible. It was so hard to sleep because he beds are so old and it’s like sleeping on mattress springs. Kitchen ceiling began to leak onto the counter top, maybe from the AC in the twin room upstairs. Siding is hanging off side of house and makes terrible squeaking sound in wind. Annoying when you’re in the pool or on the deck. Also, almost no deck or pool furniture and none of what’s there is comfortable. If the beds were replaced it would be 100% better. You def get what you pay for here!

I love the palm trees in the yard, so many of the newer homes on the island have no charm or feel of old Florida to them. Pool is the best of any rental I have stayed in before. It would be nice to have steps from the pool area to the second floor deck just for convenience. Short easy walk to the beach. Would definitely rent again if available.

House Needs Work

As expected from other reviews the house is very dated. What was not expected were the multiple areas that need immediate repair. Hurricane straps are rusted through all under the house. The pool deck has several panels that have settled and are either raised or depressed. The deck has rotten boards throughout. The privacy fence in the photos no longer exists, only the back portion is still up. The outdoor grill has rusted completely through and I can only assume another visitor purchased a small grill and left it onsite for others. There is an area on the outside that has some siding missing and some siding hanging. There are wires hanging all underneath the house in the common areas….phone wires, cable wires and live electrical wires. Inside is more of the same with cleanliness being the biggest issue. Both shower curtains were covered in mold at the base. I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone staying here until upgrades are made.

Great Pool, Affordable but Needs Some TLC

Reviewer Comments: Let's start with the negatives:*The house is is in need of some fixing up for sure. *There was a PVC pipe in the sliding glass door to keep it shut. *The king mattress coils broke. I reported it on Thursday but they didn't bring a new mattress. *The privacy fence was damaged in 2 places, that could have been from Fred, not sure. I told realty company we weren't worried about that being fixed while there. *The pergola cover was torn up, again could have been from Fred. We told the rental company we weren't worried about that being fixed while there. *Some of the boards under the porch were rotting.*It has attic type stairs to go to the top floor, those really need to be good solid steps.*The twin mattresses upstairs could be replaced. *The outdoor shower didn't have a door and faced the road. Positives:*Super affordable.*Great location.*The pool, I LOVED THIS POOL! It was by far, the best one on the island we have rented in 12 years. It was at least 10 feet deep. It was nice and wide, it had that shallow sitting area, that would be good for small kids. Most pools on the island are not that deep and usually only feel like bath water mid-day. This was always nice and refreshing. It was also an all concrete pool.*The area around the pool was fab too. If they fix the pergola cover then that will be a nice shady area to place coolers, sit or put the playpens for the babies. *Nice sized yard/lot. *The layout of the house was good. *The under house area was good. It had a shady, deck type area with seating. Good for coolers to stay in the shade and good for sitting when it rained. Would I stay here again? Yes but at least I know what to expect, nothing fancy. We spend most of our time outside anyway so this house was perfect for doing that. Plus, the price was to good to pass up.
