The downstairs has a large front room, a dining room and a separate parlor that is great for gathering around the fireplace with family and friends. There is a large wrap around porch that has two twin beds, which also have a view of the vineyards. The porch is also a wonderful place to dine on warm summer evenings. The downstairs living area does not have AC. This area stays fairly cool on warm days and nights. We do have portable fans, if needed.

The St. Helena House was the perfect spot to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday with friends. There was plenty of room to socialize inside and out, and it was a quick walk to town. I would definitely recommend for multiple couples!
The home is tucked away in a quiet part of town surrounded by beautiful vineyards but minutes to Main Street. It was spacious, clean, and had so much character! Host was awesome, responsive, and went above to give us recommendations of things to do and eat. Highly recommend!
House was amazing! Owners were wonderful & had great recommendations. The location is private, but only a few minutes from town. The house had everything we needed. We will definitely stay again when we return to this area.
Incredible home/estate with plenty of space and outdoor areas for groups to enjoy the beautiful vineyard landscape. Host was extremely hospitable and communicative and provided a TON of extra amenities (water, chips, snacks, wine, beer, spices, etc.) Highly recommend and hope to stay again!
We had an amazing time at St Helena House. Very clean, large bedrooms and well appointed kitchen. Our favorite part was all the outside seating areas. So comfortable and fun. Thanks Jim and family for a wonderful stay!
Can’t say enough about this place and the owners. Beautiful view of the vines and walking distance to St. Helena. Owner is a great communicator and there are lots of amenities with the home. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful, warm and welcoming! We all enjoyed our stay. Sitting outside in the evenings, enjoying our wine purchases from the day, overlooking a beautiful vineyard and valley. Loved the history, charm and character of this beautiful farm house.
Staying at the St. Helena House is truly something special. From the history of the house and all the property entails to the breathtaking views of Beringer Vineyards, our family had an incredible stay. It is a perfect location to quickly get into town and feels so extremely private while on the grounds. The owners are so gracious, attentive and polite. Always had a quick response if we had a question and were extremely accommodating. We dream of returning sooner than later. Thank you! The Gilbert Family
This house was amazing. We will definitely be back. There is so much old history to be found in the house. It is situated right off of a vineyard, which is gorgeous at all times of the day. The house was beautifully stocked, and the host made sure we were more than comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone
This house exceeded our expectations even with all the photos. It’s a place that takes friends and makes them family. We visited local wineries and then cooked dinner “at home” since it was so well appointed and so welcoming. We did one night with a personal chef and he was impressed too!
Awesome house in the perfect location. So well equipped with everything needed, had coffee, bottled water, soft drinks, a bottle of wine and beer for us upon arrival!! Jim also provided information on local restaurants, wineries and tours that very helpful. Jim was also very responsive to questions. We hope the house is available for our next trip to St Helena.
Upon arrival we found a gift basket full of goodies, fridge full of drinks and a very fun home for our family get together. Check in instructions were easy and accurate. The property was just what we needed for our weekend. We had a great time playing corn hole by the barn and sipping wine at the picnic tables. We will definitely recommend this property to friends!
The hosts were attentive but not intrusive. All of it so good!
We wanted to introduce friends from East Coast to the Napa Valley- history to modern day. This rare restored farmhouse with views of vineyards was ideal. Authentic, comfortable (with just the right amount of modern amenities but not too much to destroy the charm), spacious, wonderfully furnished, with superb kitchen (fully stocked), and screened porches, etc. The hosts were easy to communicate with and would stay again in a heartbeat. We have stayed at 60+ rentals around the world... this unique property ranks with the best.
Our family stayed at the St. Helena House while attending a memorial. The house exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and homey with many wonderful nooks to read, views of the vineyards out of every window, and a beautiful well stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were fine with fluffy towels and plenty of hot water with good water pressure in the showers. The owner was very welcoming and available for any questions. It rained all weekend so we did not get to enjoy the numerous outdoor spaces. I highly recommend this place for a family visit to the Napa Valley. We hated to leave!
This is a very special property - particularly if you have knowledge and interest in Napa wine. The house is the old Berringer farm house and sits adjacent to the vineyard that supplies the Cab Sav grapes that go into their reserve Cab. There are fruit trees of all sorts on the property as well so we had fresh fruit literally at our fingertips! It is a large property with all sorts of outdoor living space so a large group could easily gather for an evening. Jim was very knowledgeable of the area and also extremely responsive. I only hope that I'll be able to return soon!
Wonderful location at the base of Spring Mountain in St. Helena. The house has several porches as well as a number of interior rooms for all to spread out and enjoy. The house was clean and particularly well stocked and organized which was appreciated. The only caveats to the house are the bedroom/bathroom configuration and lack of AC in the downstairs portion of the house. The three bedrooms are all upstairs and share one bathroom. There is another full bathroom downstairs off the kitchen. We were traveling with friends, but the bathroom sharing wasn't anticipated. We also hit a couple of very hot days during our stay and the downstairs was well over 80 degrees during those days even with fans running.Absent those two things, the house is well cared for and the convenience of the location is great.
Simply put, this property was fantastic in everyway!
Let's start with the location. We were within minutes from Main St in St. Helena (easily walkable) and several wineries. At the same time, you had the feel of being secluded in the countryside. Spring Mountain was behind you and vineyards lined the property. The setting was beautiful with several outside sitting areas to enjoy the views and great conversation.
The house had tons of character and charm but not at the expense of modern conveniences. It was extremely well provisioned for the guests.
The hosts were outstanding at communicating throughout. Initial emails and texts detailed many activities in the local area along with several recommendations. Checking in and out was extremely easy with very few requirements.
Would highly recommend this property!
I stayed at Jim’s house during my wedding weekend with a few of my groomsmen and their partners. Big weekend for me obviously, and this house certainly contributed to it living up to the hype.
We were welcomed with some snacks, wine, and a fridge full of beverages to our surprise—thanks again Jim! The property itself is beautiful, with great views of the vineyards and tons of areas to sit and lounge outside. The wraparound porch was awesome for hanging out too when we got bit too toasty outside. All the beds were comfortable for me and my guests, and the living spaces were quite comfy too.
Additionally, the charm and history this house possesses is one of a kind. You truly feel like you’re getting that true, vintage Napa Valley experience. And, you can’t beat this location: you feel like you’re out in the country yet a few minutes from downtown St. Helena.
Overall, this house was amazing and perfect for our group. I’d highly recommend it to others and would love to stay here again!
