Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados by IHG

"We were greeted upon check-in with rum, punches and smiles. The staff was amazing and helpful throughout our stay. We booked an Ocean view room with a balcony and it delivered! There was nothing like waking up and going to sleep with the sounds of the tranquil ocean. The pool downstairs provided a spectacular view. Also, the rooftop pool in the adults only floor was a do not miss feature. The daybeds, the pools, the cabanas were all top notch. This is one of the newer properties on the island and within walking distance to a lot of places. Another great feature was that it was not overrun with kids. This hotel is ideal for couples and groups of friends over the age of 35. We didn’t get a chance to check out the rum room during our short stay, which was disappointing. I can’t wait to come back."

"I really enjoyed my stay at Eden on the Sea. I frequent Barbados and Savvy often, but this is my first time staying here. I really enjoyed having a variety of food choices available to me for extended hours as well as the Bar. The location is truly on the beach. The rooms are small, but nice. A separate parking area or reserved parking spots for the hotel would be ideal. I would not want to park and walk over which is the only option at times. I would recommend this location and will return."
Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All Inclusive Resort

"Wyndham Sam Lord’s has the potential to be a great hotel. The staff is excellent and the rooms are nice but there are some maintenance issues that you would not expect at a newer 5-star resort, the biggest of which is we NEVER had any hot water our entire stay. The entire hotel was without hot water and we had to take short cold showers. There are also things like fountains not working/being used, broken path lighting, broken doors, etc. that indicates they are struggling to maintain the property. We ate at Castle View and the Japanese restaurant and both were good. Food at the Mediterranean and Grill was also good. There is an Indian restaurant as well that we heard was good but did not eat at. There is an accessible beach, but no swimming due to rough surf and sargassum (seaweed). Suggest renting a car or taking a taxi if you want a beach day. Crane and Miami Beach are within driving distance. We rented a car and hit up many attractions throughout the island. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary from our honeymoon (which was at the old Sam Lords Castle). The hotel offers a good view of the old castle which is lit up in Barbados colors at night. The hotel went out of their way to make us feel special, with a welcome heart and card on our bed and delivering an anniversary dessert directly to our room during our stay. I feel the hotel could be a true 5-star experience with a bit more maintenance. The friendly staff makes up for a lot of the deficiencies."
