Mafolie hotel is located central to downtown, an 11$/person taxi ride down with a beautiful view! Travel ease: intermediate (know the taxi rates or have a car) The best: - breakfast was amazing (and complimentary). 8-10 am every morning with a view of St. Thomas like no other. - location was prime with a 10 min ride to half the island including Magan’s bay and havensight, downtown, and the airport was a 35$ (with two bags, 2 people, ride) - air conditioning worked very well. - blackouts were none existent. - staff were amazing (special shoutout to Sunny and Bill!) The OK: - pool had a great view, just a little small. The tiles are a bit slippery too. - Located on the edge of a mountain, so be ready to walk - shower was good, water pressure great, just a simple shower The ‘eh’: - could hear everything outside our room (either in hallway or the windows) - not really walkable - not amazing lighting, 3 lamps in our room. Overall would stay again! Just probably when we feel comfortable driving the island 😁

Dinner and Breakfast were amazing! The room was spacious, the room was cold but the AC in the king size bedroom leaked water into a bucket which was loud. It's some updates but it was a nice room ànd we were able to sleep after our flight was cancelled.

The staff was friendly..the first room I was in was like living in a basement. The noise from the road was horrible kept us awake each night. The room they moved us to was beautiful loved it. They are great people to talk to easy going. The breakfast most days was good. The last day they microwaved the French toast so it wasn't as good as I knew it could be. I would return there in a higher suite. Based on my first room the bungalow I would have to say I would never return. So if you stay there make sure you ask for a jr king suite well worth it.

The staff was very attentive from check in to check out even calling on my 1st night to inquire if I needed dinner reservations as the onsite restaurant was closed. Hotel.is located in an area that is accessible to many sites. My only advice would be open to changing your plans based on how many cruiselines are in port or rent a vehicle as taxis maybe difficult to get as on the days with 3-4 ships they prefer to make many trips with a full car from the port to activities to make their $$...cant blame the drivers but it makes coming off the mountain difficult

The view from the room was beautiful. The air conditioning worked great. Unfortunately, the bathroom really needed some work. The shower floor was nasty. We had to wear shower shoes. The water cut off multiple times while showering. The plug for hair dryers was so high up in the light, it could not be reached by a short person. The actual sink bowl had cracks. There was also only one other plug in the bedroom and you could not see yourself in a mirror to dry your hair. The pool area needs major renovation and upkeep. A little cleaning would’ve gone a long way to make the area look better. The on-site restaurant Sol was a disappointment. While the views and drinks were great, the food was horrible. We were very disappointed that we spent $200 to eat there when there are other dining options we wished we had gone to instead. Do not have plans to stay here again. There are much better options in town.

I visited the prpoerty in late July with my daughter. The colors of the buildings were beautiful and the plants on grounds made it even more beautiful. There were alot of steps so if you're not into that keep it in mind. Especially having to carry things like your suitcase and other items. There was consteuction going on so there were some workers around working on one side of the property. The view of the seaport was great from my room and pool area. I only stayed one night but they upgraded me based on my Expedia status and their availability which was nice. They had a little breakfast buffet of fruit, bagels, cereal, coffee, orange juice, yogurt and pastries which was convenient. The property manager (Elizabeth) was friendly and so was Alice. The staff was informative when I asked for recommendations. If you're driving around the island i would recommend an SUV due to the roads. Getting to this property is an uphill trip so if you're afraid of heights and tight roads you may be a bit scared. But once you get to the property it's nice. There wasn't food available onsite so buy food before arriving especially if you don't have your own transportation which i had. There is parking but its tight. The views though are amazing!
