Riverside architect-designed garden apartment

Located directly on the high banks of the Eider, Schleswig-Holstein’s largest river, is Mathias and Thomas’s house, which features a total of two apartments. Designed and decorated by Mathias himself, it captivates with its extraordinary architecture, reminiscent of 1970s America. The exterior facade of the house is clad in overlapping French clay shingles.



The interior design features elegant wall treatments, carefully selected furniture, and high-quality lighting. A highlight is the round rosewood dining table, complete with chairs featuring original upholstery from the 1960s. The gray-green wall color, which runs consistently through all rooms, contributes significantly to the cozy atmosphere. Large sliding windows in the living and dining area as well as in the bedroom provide plenty of light and a sweeping view of the surrounding nature. The large terrace invites you to enjoy breakfast right by the water. The adjacent river can also be enjoyed from various angles across the spacious green area.



Sunbathing, long afternoons spent reading, and barbecue evenings with friends are just a few of the leisure activities you can enjoy here. If you’d like to spend your vacation with a larger group, you have the option of reserving the second apartment in addition to the garden-level unit.



In front of the house is a riverside promenade from which you can reach the swimming area, just 200 meters away. Worthwhile destinations include the nearby town of Friedrichstadt, which was founded four hundred years ago based on the Dutch canal model. The expansive beaches of St. Peter Ording are also less than an hour’s drive away.
