Nice location

This hotel is cosy and comfortable, just 3 mins walk from Circular Quay and the famous pancake on the rock. Suggest to take a walk to Circular Quay at night to enjoy the cool sea breeze before going back the hotel room for a nice sleep.

Nice and Affordable hotel

This is a historical building so the facilities are simple, the bathroom was clean but there was not enough hot water when took a shower. The location is excellent that located in the city. Even though some facilities are old and no lift, it is a affordable hotel that include breakfast! In other words, i am still recommend this hotel because of location and affordable price.

Fantastic location in the Rocks

Just one night short stay, but it's location is great at the centre of the Rocks, very close to Circular Quay and nice sunrise spot Dawes Point. There isn't private washroom but the shared washroom is clean and comfortable.

Close to Sydney Harbour Bridge

Location is good. If you prefer to have a low-cost trip, this hotel may suit you but can't expect for more. I would suggest to someone who likes old style and historical building for a few days of stay. If you have more budget and prefer a modern and cleaner hotel, please consider the other one. The breakfast is simple, only bread, fruit and drinks such as milk/coffee, and for me, I have chosen to have breakfast outside.

Love the old style pub and its history. Comfortable but showing its age, room was noise due to work being done on the block behind the building just outside our bath room window, but the bath room door was water damaged and could not be closed. Would stay again, there appears to be plans to do work on the build in 2024

Great location but the noise wasn't appreciated. Not the hotel's fault. Council decided to clean the footpaths from 6.30 pm till late and then the building next door was undergoing renovations and started pneumatic hammering at 7.00 am. Destroyed my intended restful sleep. Great staff and food was excellent value too.

This property was filthy and the aircon blew hot air into the room and was black with mold/dust. The tub was so bad I didn’t even ask them to clean the hair and bugs out as I would never use it!! Despite booking this room because it had a big bathtubs!! Do not recommend!!! Have pictures but don’t know how to post! Completely disgusting and rip off!!!

Join the party

We arrived late on a Saturday, no problem the pub was busy so found someone who came to check us in. The room was clean and nice to find somewhere with twin beds. We quickly realised they would be better off with double glazed windows as you can hear everyone outside along with the music so that first night it was gone 3am till we finally got some sleep but 0630 someone was using a vacuum or a blender and it went on for ages. The building is old and you can tell from pain peeling but it wasn’t an issue. The location was brilliant and if you are there to join in with the drinking brilliant. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay.

日本から、土曜〜月曜の滞在です。 一言で表すと、遊ぶ場所としては良いロケーションですが、ホテルとしてくつろげる場所ではありませんでした。 立地・口コミの良さ・一泊7500円程の安さに惹かれて予約しました。 土曜の夜、ギターの弾き語り 皆で"大合唱"する様子が賑やかでとても素敵でしたが、古い建物なので音が部屋までダイレクトに届きました。急いで低評価の口コミを見たところ、2時まで続いたと言うコメントを見て絶望しましたが、実際は12時頃でピタっと音がなくなりました。(良い口コミをみると、この様子は週末だけなのでしょうか？) また、友人がバスタブにお湯を溜めながらシャワーをしていたら途中からお湯が出なくなり、水で身体を洗うことに。自分はまだ入っていなかったので、フロントに問い合わせようとしたところ、従業員の方はバーと兼務の様子だったので、大合唱の中、バーのカウンターに相談しに。声が聞こえる場所まで離れ、今日は沢山の利用客がいるから出なくなったのかもしれない、明日の朝修理をしてもらうという話で、忙しなくバーの仕事に戻られました。 他の利用客には会わなかったので、他の部屋の様子は分かりませんが、なんの確認もせず、明日まで我慢してと言う形で、唖然としました。海外旅行に慣れていない、自分達は洗礼を受けたような気分になりました、、 次の日は朝から予定が入っていたので、修理を待つ時間も惜しく、ケトルでお湯を沸かし洗面台にお湯を溜めたもので身体を流しました。 次の日の昼にシャワーを捻るとお湯が出てきました。従業員の方に伝えたところ、昨晩の事が引き継がれている様子はなく、今出るなら壊れているわけではないと思うので、また出なくなったら声をかけるようにと言われました。2日目の夜は日曜で利用客が少ないからか、早めに入るようにしたからか、お湯が出ました。(もちろんバスタブにお湯は溜めませんでした) 　ホテルの前には、ロックスマーケットが並び、朝6時過ぎから準備の音で目が覚めました。 　今回は安いホテルを探しましたが、次はケチらずに、しっかり少数派の悪い口コミもみて判断しようと思いました。 また、下のアイリッシュ料理が食べられるレストラン？の注文は20時までで、遅くまでやっていると勘違いしていた自分達は食べ損ねてしまったので、利用予定の方は早めにいくことをお勧めします。

We were very disappointed-the difference between the room photos and the reality were quite significant - stains on the carpet, no working light in the bathroom, no grate in the shower, the bath was dirty, paint peeling off window frames, a large portable air conditioning unit that was broken (the taped together parts at the back had come apart). The saving grace was clean sheets and towels and the proximity to the rocks.
