Great trip for my husband, my son, and I. Cabin was perfect in both size and location for us to trout fish all day, every day from the yard. Truly enjoyed it. The best part was the location of the cabin and that it was right on the water.

The view
My family love this area. The view and how peaceful the place is awesome. Recommend to bring a fan because it gets hot time to time. Definitely planning to come back.
It was a cute place. We enjoyed the set up of the cottage. Our favorite spot was the covered porch with the hot tub.

Great cabin on the Tuckasegee!
Location, location, location. This is a perfect location! It's close to everything you need and if you like trout fishing, you're able to catch them in the backyard. Will be a yearly visit now that we found the perfect spot.

Always a Delight
Love this cozy little place. Can’t wait to book my stay for next year
Went to relax and rest found this on the river, on the porch in the rocking chairs, watching the fish, birds, wishing I had brought my fishing pole maybe next time..
Exactly as described and portrayed. And exactly what we were looking for. Just the two of us so didn’t need a lot of space. Perfect location to hit the Tail of the Dragon and Cherokee on motorcycle. Awesome restaurants and shops nearby but not as packed as the Smokies and other locations. Awesome!!

Me and the family had a great time here. It was a good location. Clean. The only issue we had was there was no a/c the whole stay we had. We called the management the first night to have someone come out and fix it. No one showed until the day of leaving. It was 85 in the house the whole stay. We was not comfortable. But other than that we enjoyed our stay!
old is ok, but the ceilings were sagging and carpet in the bedroom was not vaccumed and need to be, the towles smelled bad and there as an old blood stain on the bedsheets. the hot tub was nice.

Disappointing
This was a disappointing property. The location is fantastic. It sits right on the Tuckasegee River and is lovely. The deck and hot tub face the river, which is nice. The outdoor picnic shed is right alongside the river and the grill worked great. The cabin itself is old and shows both its age and lack of maintenance. The carpet in the bedroom was dirty. The bedroom ceiling needs work as it seems to have been crudely patched. Drawers were missing in the kitchen. The television in the main room did not work. These are just a few of the more notable things. Everything inside shows its age. Just suffers from a lack of care and attention.Overall this property wastes a lot of potential. Would not stay here again without significant repairs and updates.

Very peaceful
We ended up at River Romance due to water issues with the original booking I placed. So glad that I ended up choosing River romance for the secondary location! Ended up being more of the setting we were looking for. The home was comfortable with a great view, as well as the convenience of being riverfront. There weren't any issues beyond the drier being out of service. Would definitely consider returning during the summer.

Wonderful location
This is our 2nd stay at this home. The location on the river is amazing. The last time we we there it was spring. Although the fishing was better in spring we really enjoyed being able to swim to cool off. My husband actually fished while standing in the river. The inside of the house was clean. However, the porch area where we mostly hung out was a bit dusty with pollen and spider webs. I wiped everything down so we could enjoy it more. The bed was comfy and clean. I was looking for an extra flat sheet to put on the couch. However, the 2nd bedroom bed only had fitted sheets on it. We grilled outside, while the grill was small the propane was full and was fine for our needs. The driveway is a little tough getting in and out of. However, the location makes it all worth while. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back.
The cabin itself is nice but there was a terrible smell coming in through the ac or water sources. It smells like poop! Also, the grass was not cut around the property before we came. It was high with weeds and a little unpleasant!
The moment we walked into this cabin we were hit with a strong mold & animal smell. Our eyes were itchy almost immediately. We turned on the HVAC to try and refresh the air but after 30 mins it only made it worse. We were not able to stay inside the cabin at all. We called vacasa and they tried to help us find a new place. We enedup having to find a hotel for our stay as there is no way it would be safe to stay in this cabin. I have no idea how it is getting all these high reviews.
Everything was pretty much as described in the listing. The back deck is literally on the river, within a couple of feet. The hot tub was a welcome feature and we made good use of it. Some reviews mentioned the "slanting" house. We did notice it a bit but, hey, this is a river cabin.. some settling is expected. It did not detract from our enjoyment one bit. The cabin had everything we needed, including in the kitchen. The big TV in the master bedroom is pretty old; it's a Toshiba projection type TV. The picture is pretty bad, but we didn't come here to watch TV. The TV in the kitchen/dining area is much better, although much smaller. The cabin is in a great location, very near lots of things to do. Good restaurants nearby (Kosta's was our favorite), and four grocery stores only a few minutes away. All in all, this a great place to stay. We will be returning!

Terrible
Not sure where to start.. master bedroom ceiling is falling in bed frame is falling apart all sheets and pillows are stained and have crumbs like they haven't been replaced or washed since the place was built. Rustic is an overstatement. Couldn't even wash the sheets upon arrival due to the washing machine being unhooked and full of musty water. Ended up checking out early. Only good part was the river bring a sleeping bag. Oh and if your looking for privacy the neighbors constantly wander around the home and have there dogs loose. Maybe replace a few cheap items in the home and keep up on it?
