Rock and relax Above the River on this special home’s spacious wrap-around porch (over 800 square feet of covered space). Situated on the bank of the Tuckasegee River, you can allow the sound of the rushing river waters to soothe you as you kick back in this unique get-away. Complete with two primary suites, modern furnishings, a gas fireplace and outdoor amenities (fire pit, picnic table, propane grill, etc.), this house has everything you’ll need to craft a perfect vacation.

This home is an ideal base to visit attractions such as Maggie Valley, Cherokee casino, Gatlinburg & the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Shopping and dining are available in the unique towns of Sylva, Dillsboro, and Waynesville. Take a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway or take a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. Step out your door to go fishing, kayaking, floating down the river.

Things to know:
Gas log fireplace is only available from October - March.
Limited cell service and GPS.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.
This rental is located on floor 2.

Clean, had everything we needed. Requires stairs to access. Quiet, but there is a busy road on the opposite side of the river. Gravel driveway runs between house and river but not a busy one. Porch is awesome. Gas fireplace.

Nice place

Beds were comfortable, very important.Good cookware, equally important if you are cooking meals.Being on the river is great. Spacious. Could have used some extra dusting in places. Wasn't crazy about the dirt wall backed up to the house, especially just experiencing hurricane Hellene. A fencing brace or something would ease my mind some. Could use some cleaning bugs away from light fixtures outside. It would have been a nice touch to have some type of Christmas or decor for the season.These are small things but when you pay 1000 you kinda expect above average. Really nice place though.

The right of rustic and comfort

The property was everything that we expected. The location and beautiful scenery complimented a very well maintained and fully equipped cozy cabin. Hearing the river run just outside made us feel like we were close to nature. Highly recommend it.

Vietnam Veteran mini reunion

The property is great and will be our number 1 choice for our next adventure. The only thing we would change is the time of year. Since we are fly fishermen early June or sometime after October 1st would be better fishing. The summer months are a little slow in the river as far as fly fishing goes but we did manage to catch a couple.

Would stay here again!

This is the most peaceful spot there is. The river view is wonderful and we spent an entire day on the porch watching the boaters and fishermen. The house was roomy and accommodating.

Great fishing cabin!

This cabin was perfect for our annual fly fishing trip. Four of us stayed in the cabin - beds were very comfortable and everything was there that we needed. The river was running fast one day due to rain but we were able to enjoy fishing every day using waders. Two bits of advice - (1) bring water because the well water in the cabin is high in sulfur and (2) if you have any questions about the stay, call Vacasa directly because no one responds through VRBO. We would definitely stay there again!

Relaxing River Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the sound of the river was very relaxing. The long driveway is narrow with the river on one side and thick brush on the other side. Parking is an adventure….sharp right turn, 45 degree upward and then levels at top, quick stop before hitting the wall. Gas logs didn’t seem to work (might have been out of gas) and we couldn’t get local TV to work, so we watch a lot of Netflix. The house was beautiful and well kept with an awesome upstairs Shower Room! We look forward to staying here again!

Fishing vacation

We went fishing up in Cherokee and caught nothing even though it is stocked. My brother caught trout right off the yard in the river in front of the house!
