Stayed 2 nights, clean and comfortable room, slept well on futons. Nice public baths, excellent japanese breakfasts. Had dinner 1 night, good food but felt the service a bit rushed.
Well located to visit all of Takayama!
I had a wonderful stay at this lovely and charming Ryokan. They had very nice artwork and decor throughout the Ryokan, everything was very clean and it's in a great location, walkable to all the sites and the train station. The staff was so kind and helpful! I loved this Ryokan and Takayama so much that I give it my highest recommendation to anyone visiting Takayama. Thank you for an amazing stay! I hope to be able to return one day soon!
Had a great 2 night stay. Staff is great and super helpful. Ryokan is located a few minutes walk from the train station, and 10 minutes or so from old town. Japanese breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend.
Ryokan Asunaro is truly something special. Loved staying here. Beautiful property with indoor onsen to enjoy, about s 10-minute walk from historic Takayama streets. Service was fantastic and the food delicious.
A beautiful, home-like ryokan that's a bit quirky but still traditional. The family who runs it is delightful and helpful. Very conveniently located -- about a 10-minute walk from the old town. You can't go wrong staying here!
The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The room is very comfortable and clean. The family atmosphere and hotel management attention to details makes the guests feeling comfortable and heart warming. The onsen spa and options for dinning of the hotel are very enjoyable lfor guests to
This is my second time staying at this ryokan. Overall, it is such an enjoyable experience of the Japanese ryokan hospitality. The breakfast presentation is incredible as well.

Had an amazing stay at this authentic ryokan. The staff is very attentive to all of your needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is outstanding. We had the traditional dinner and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had right down to the presentation.
We love our time here. Close to the train and bus station. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast and dinner. The onsen and yukata made it for a great experience. The cookies in room were a nice touch. Highly recommended 👌
The Ryokan was only short walk fron train and bus station and also walked to all attractions. The breakfast were excellent. Their kimonos were so comfortable.
We loved the authentic Japanese dinner, which was the highlight of our Takayama trip. The room was so spacious and clean. We also liked the onsen.
By far one of the best Ryokan in the region! Staff spoken English well and not many tooms so feels very exclusive and the meals were excellent. Staff very warm and friendly. We will come back to this Ryokan again.
