The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival with lovely christmas decorations and a basket of goodies. The log burner was perfect for cold evenings. It was ideally positioned for sightseeing. The last Roman soldiers left Britain in 407 AD and the Roman way of life slowly disappeared. People drifted away from the towns to the countryside and returned to a simpler way of life.
