Disappointed and would not stay again
We were very excited for our stay, but unfortunately, there were numerous issues that made the experience disappointing. An hour before arriving, the host informed us that the house was for sale and showings might occur during our stay, which was unsettling after driving 10 hours. After expressing our concerns and requesting a refund, the host confirmed there would be no showings. The house itself had several problems: the water pressure in the kitchen and shower was very low, the refrigerator was equipped for ice and water but neither worked, and the sulfur water created an unpleasant smell throughout the house. One of the two bathrooms had a sign instructing not to use the bathtub, which was not mentioned before our arrival. The air conditioning was inadequate and failed to keep the house cool, and the sunroom had no air vents, making it unbearably hot. We were also surprised to find only 4 towels and 2 washcloths for a 5-day stay for two people, with no washer and dryer available. The yard was unkempt, lacked outdoor furniture to relax on, and despite being listed as a waterfront retreat, there was no waterfront view. The hot tub which was advertised as an amenity, wasn’t there, and was removed from the listing after we arrived. We genuinely wanted to enjoy our stay, but so many undisclosed issues left us disappointed.
