What a great town to visit for a couple of nights. The lodge itself is very nice. I had a small room that is sufficient for one person. Easy parking. This lodge is on the main street for the town of Red River, and all shops and restaurants are within a 15 minute walk from the lodge. One of the ski lifts is located right next to the lodge. There are two hot tubs available in the back for hotel guests to use. I would recommend this lodge for staying in Red River.

The room and furnishing were sub standard. The mattress was hard and lumpy, housekeeping continuously short sheeted the bed, when they bothered to show up. We had to chase them down to get clean towels. The size of the bathroom was very small; the commode was right up against the sink which was up against the tub. No bathmat was provided so the floors proved slippery which is no good for those of us in our seventies. This was not our first time staying at this property but is was the last.

Great getaway from Texas heat.

Our room was older but lovely. Lots of light and air. Room was clean and large. 2 balconies with 2 different views. Would stay in the same room again but found being on the 3rd floor more difficult at 74 and 83 years of age but will stay at eh Alpine Lodge again as we have always enjoyed our stays there.

No a/c, but cool temps , a screened window and a noisy fan made for a cool room. However, when the guests below us smoked on their balcony, it all wafted into our room. Very unpleasant. The carpet needs replaced. A couple small tables, 1 beside bed and 1 on balcony would be welcome additions! Overall, pretty average or below. Great location.
