Welcome to Murchison Manor, a spacious executive home with room to spread out, relax and enjoy beautiful views towards the Murchison Mountains.
With four bedrooms, two separate living areas and generous spaces inside and out, this is a substantial home — but we intentionally limit stays to a maximum of five guests. That means plenty of room for everyone, whether you’re travelling as a family, with friends, or as couples who appreciate having their own space.
The main living area is bright and comfortable, with views towards the Murchison Mountains providing an ever-changing Fiordland backdrop. It’s an easy place to settle in after a day exploring, while a second separate living area gives you the luxury of another space to relax, read, watch a movie or simply enjoy some quiet time.
The large, fully equipped kitchen is designed for proper cooking rather than just holiday basics. There’s a full-size oven and stove, fridge freezer and pantry, along with plenty of space to prepare everything from a quick breakfast before heading to Milford Sound to a relaxed dinner at home.
Four bedrooms give you plenty of flexibility. Three feature queen or king beds, while the fourth has single beds — ideal for families, friends or guests who prefer separate sleeping arrangements. With occupancy capped at five, you can choose the setup that works best for your group without every bedroom needing to be filled.
Two heat pumps help keep the home comfortable through Te Anau’s changing seasons, whether you’re returning from a crisp winter day or settling in on a cool Fiordland evening.
There’s plenty of space outdoors too. Outdoor furniture includes a table and chairs for meals or morning coffees outside, along with beanbags for those afternoons when doing very little sounds like an excellent plan. The generous section gives you room to enjoy the fresh air and mountain surroundings without leaving home.
Parking is straightforward, with space available in the driveway and additional parking on the street.
Murchison Manor makes an especially good base for guests who want to spend a few days properly exploring Te Anau and Fiordland. Milford Sound, the Great Walks and some of New Zealand’s most spectacular scenery may be the reason you come, but it’s nice to return somewhere that feels like a home rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
With the lakefront, town centre, cafés, restaurants and local attractions within easy reach, you can head out when adventure calls and come home to space, comfort and those Murchison Mountain views.
Four bedrooms. Two living areas. Plenty of room inside and out. Just five guests.
