"We had a nice stay at the Waters of Micoqua. Hotel staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. The person who checked us in even gave us a few different room options to choose from (different floors, different distances from the pool area, etc).
As we were traveling with kids, we made use of the pool area, which consists of a shallow pool for young kids, a deeper pool for older kids/adults, and a hot tub. Both the hot tub and the deeper pool had indoor and outdoor sections, which was fun. Also, the pool depth was never so deep that I had to worry about my kids who aren't strong swimmers. There was also a lifeguard on duty. We did not make use of the two water slides (kids were too scared to try them), but we managed to have fun for about 3 hours.
Our room was clean; nothing to complain about with that. The only thing that really made our stay "good" instead of "great" was the hotel breakfast, which was pretty lackluster: cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, waffles. It was disappointing after an otherwise very nice stay. Would still probably stay again if we're in the area."
"Very nice stop in the northern woods. The check in wasn't smooth. We never received the access code so we had to call a number to receive the code. It was easy after we called but would have been nice to just receive it like the email stated. There was a cigarette butt in the planter by the door which was not attractive to nonsmokers arriving. There was also a leftover towel under the bed.
Otherwise, the room was very clean, the room was remodeled nicely, and it was a quiet place to stop with only 8 available motel type rooms on the property. The restaurant building was not open on the day that we stayed. We would stay here again."
"Finally fixed the wifi which helps a lot! We love staying there even though its a ways from Minocqua. One drawback is the BR fan won't operate unless light is o n."
"The room was very clean and big enough. Great people!!
Although the restroom sliding door had some problems, upon the conversation with the front desk, they got the maintenance guy to fix that immediately.
Overall I would good, no complains"
"It definitely is a "Cozy Cottage"! We had everything we needed and had such a wonderful stay. Our two pups loved the fully fenced in back yard and had a great time exploring. The fire-pit area was perfect for relaxing and staring up at the starry night sky."
"Was not crazy about the bunk beds but that was my husband’s fault for not reading the listing closely. I would’ve brought my air mattress to sleep next to my husband if I had known"
Thunderbird Lodge: Sandy Beach, Pontoon Boats & Northwoods Memories
10/10 Excellent
"Mick the host was exceptionally great! The lodge was awesome. Our whole family had the best time ever and will never forget this vacation. We made smores at the fire pit. We went fishing on the Pontoon boat. I can't say enough how great it was."
