This big male elephant came very very close to our vehicle, you really cant prepare yourself for how darn big they are no matter how many times you have seen them. This was on a drive near Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. While I was there I stayed at the wonderful Camelthorne lodge which is just a breath of fresh air both in accommodations and the wonderful staff who seem to really care about you
Another cool shot of the amazing elephants around Camelthorne lodge in Zimbabwe. I got scared a few times on the 8 weeks I was on safari. One of those times was coming back to Camelthorn from a late game drive , and suddenly out of the dark from just a few yards away a elephant trumpets to let its group know we were near, scared me to death then the wonder and amazement of it all just set in. A lion and his pet turtle just hanging out waiting on the train..... Ok maybe it was not a pet but the lion never really tried to get at the turtle the entire time I watched and seemed content just to carry it back and fourth and play with it a bit. I am sure the turtle was not amused. I saw this on a drive from Imvelo Safari Lodges Camelthorne lodge in Zimbabwe
