Good hotel if you're just looking for a place to sleep, since you’ll probably be out exploring most of the time. It’s not a 5-star property, but it does the job for a night or two. Staff were friendly and the location is spot on — about a 10–15 minute walk to the lake and the center of Thun. Parking is available right next to the hotel and it’s affordable, but make sure to have some Swiss Franc coins on you.

The room was very comfortable. Location was right across the street from express bus that took you to train station in 5 minutes. Hotel is a short walk from a lovely wooded park and Lake Thun. Hotel is about a half hour walk from the city center if you walk thru the park and along the lake.

Alpha Thun was a pleasant surprise. Our original booking of a different hotel in Interlaken was cancelled on us by the hotel and we scrambled to find another and this is what we found in Thun. The hotel is right next to the Strandbad bus stop, making it convenient to travel using bus. The room was clean, quaint, spacious enough, and decent looking. The hotel restaurant was great. The food selection was great. Our server, Pao, offered a few great suggestions for Schilthorn and the hiking areas around Murren and Gimmelwald. Since we love hiking, we followed her suggestions.

Receptionist is never at the desk. Worst check in experience ever, was never told by the hotel that there is no receptionist on Sundays after a certain time (I even confirmed my stay via email and nothing was mentioned about self check in) and after a long flight we got to the hotel and the doors of the hotel were locked. We had to go across the street with our luggage to call the hotels emergency number at the neighbouring hotel. Found a dried up contact lens on the floor of the hotel room when we came in, everything was dusty and looked overall dirty. Avoid this hotel at all costs if ur a clean person and want good customer service. It gave more of a hostel vibe rather than hotel.

I paid £600 for 3 days it was an absolute rip off it’s not a 3 star below average filthy and unsafe. Besides except the staff Gonzalo’s staff were terrible rude and un pleasant the cafe lady was nice though. Rooms are poorly conditioned no double beds broken fans with string attached my son couldn’t sleep at all. This must be rate to 1 star hotel

Don't stay here while there is a heat wave

We stayed here while there was a heat wave - no AC in the room, and opening windows created 2 other problems - lots of mosquitoes flying in and a lot of noise - the low point was when someone started to use 2-stroke bush-trimmer next to the hotel 06 AM. Bathroom did not remove any moist and felt more like a Turkish steam sauna. Would have probably been much better experience if the weather had been colder.

Parking would have been good across the street from hotel but it was closed due to Ironman competition. Not the fault of facility but wish we had known before booking. Toilet was broken and continually ran. Bus stop in front of hotel on busy street so unite noisy. Will not return.

En fait, il n'y avait aucun stationnement. Malgré la mention lors de la réservation. Nous comprenons que c'est dû a un évènement mais ils n'ont pas pensé a leur clientèle, leurs trouvé un plan B ou les aider a trouver un endroit pour leur voiture. Nous avons dû chercher par nous même et nous informer auprès des autorités de la ville. Tout les stationnements étaient fermées pour l'événement. On nous avait dit d'aller voir au super marché qui étaient avec horodateur max 3h... Une dame nous a dit de se stationner pareil dans le grand stationnement et de quitter avant 6h le matin. Ou prendre un risque ailleurs que ce n'était que 40chf l'amande. En faisant le tour de la ville on a trouvé un stationnement près d'un château et avons croisé les doigts que sa fonctionne a 16 minutes de marche de l'hôtel. Toute qu'une journée d'anniversaire.

L'acqua calda in doccia è durata due minuti e mi sono dovuta fare la doccia fredda. Sul letto c'era solo una sorta di coprimaterasso, non c'era nessun lenzuolo. Servizio reception assente la mattina al mio check out. Ho dovuto suonare due volte il campanello e non ho trovato molta cordialità.

Keine Gastgeberqualitäten.

Sehr unfreundlichen Empfang. Keine Gastgeberqualitäten der Dame an der Reception. Wir wirden nicht darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass wir Anspruch auf die ÖV Benützung gehabt hätten. Im Zimmer funktionierten lediglich die Hälte alker Lampen. Somit fällt die Preis/Leistung Frage sehr schlecht aus. Einzige Ausnahme war die junge Aushilfe beim Frühstück. Einmal und nie wieder.
