Unfortunately for foreigners, it’s a little out of the way from the city highlights . Word of warning make sure the cab drivers reset the meters on pick up , my cabbie was a scammer. That was the only disappointment of the whole trip .

The St Regis Tianjin Hotel
Warmly greeted and the location is fabulous. Great for walks around the river right outside day or night. Right near the mall and other shops. I consider this the heart of Tianjin. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and going to the Starbucks Reserve within walking distance for great drink ...

Nankai
The restaurants and museums are just a few things visitors like about Nankai. Tianjin Water Park and Drum Tower are worthwhile spots to check out, and you can hop on the metro at Tiantuo Station or Yizhongxinyiyuan Station to get around the larger area.
Heping
You might enjoy the historical sites while in Heping. Binjiang Avenue Shopping Street is a notable sight, and you can get around town at Yingkoudao Station or Hepinglu Station to see more of the city.
Wu Da Dao
