This huge elegant house is a remarkable place to stay, the opposite of a bland holiday villa, it has cool marble floors & frescoes but somehow doesn’t take itself too seriously. We have 8 children between ages 2 to 16 and we were swallowed up in the massive rooms. All of the children enjoyed it: the pool, the massive basement playroom and billiard table, the great stone fireplace where we lit a fire one cooler evening in October.The host Lucia was extremely kind to us although we arrived very late because of heavy traffic and losing our way, and was readily helpful but respectful of our privacy during our stay.The enchanted fountains of the Villa d’Este or the Villa Adriana are a short drive, and Rome centre can be reached easily in under an hour by driving to the end of line B and taking the Metro at Rebibbia.This is in our opinion very definitely superb value for a larger group or family such as ours, who have a car to get around. We will remember the villa as a fascinating character whom we met on the holiday.

The property was clean but in need of a number of repairs and updates. The lower level was advertised as part of the villa but was completely unavailable as building work was apparently underway. The garden was untidy and as a 5 double bedroom villa, having just three sunbeds was poor. The kitchen was also not well equipped but had bare essentials, just.Louigi was the.maintainance man and was great but just walked in unanounced which was not great.

Very nice.. Has a couple issues

The property is stunning but Is not completely finished. The host was very nice and responsive. The place was very clean. The showers are extremely small and the basement has issues with dampness. A dehumidifier would help immensely. Otherwise we had a fantastic stay.

Des vacances inoubliables

Nous avons été agréablement surpris par la maison de Lucia qui est atypique et tres originale! Nous sommes tombés sous son charme.Les peintures qui ornent de nombreuses pieces (toit et murs)lui donnent un cachet .La cuisine etait top:fonctionnelle,grande,avec assez de vaisselle,de casseroles...et au niveau de l immene jardin,porche et piscine magnifique. Les tables parfaites pour les grandes tablées! Nous n avons pas eu bespin d utiliser toutes les SDB disponibles de la maison car elles sont tres nombreuses.Malgré la chaleur de l été,la maison reste fraiche .. Magasin à 3 min en voiture,9 min de la gare pour aller a Rome et 10 de Tivoli. Seul bemol:le manque de pression de l eau chaude pour se doucher. Pro magardefraitemperatures baissent

Italien urlaib

Es war unser 1. Italien Urlaub mit Freunden zusammen, deswegen entschieden wir uns für eine Villa mit viel platz. Wir haben keinen großen anspruch und sind somit hier gut zurecht gekommen. Mit den zuständigen hatten wir sehr lieben kontakt, auch mit dem Kontakt vor Ort war alles super. Aber was sehr schade ist, das die Villa nicht gepflegt wird. Die Bäder an sich waren okay, aber überall könnte man gründlicher sauber machen. den Abfluss haben wir von Haaren entfernt, damit das wasser ordentlich ablaufen kann. die Küche ist super groß, aber eine richtige gründliche reinigung hat die auch schon lange nicht gesehen. wir haben alles einmal abgewaschen und gereinigt. Würde man der Villa mehr liebe schenken, kann man viel mehr draus machen. der Pool ist schln groß und auch was für kleinere Kinder, aber allerdings verliert der Pool wasser und wir mussten dauerhaft zwei wasserschläuche in den pool laufen lassen. die wasser rechnung möchte ich nicht erhalten. auch beim Pool sind die kleinen mosaik fliesen abgegangen, wir haben uns zwar nicht verletzt, aber das kann man sicher. inseriert ist auch der bereich mit dem Billiardtisch, schöne große fläche wo sie vermutlich auch mehr draus machen wollten, aber dabei ist geblieben. den whirpool kann man unten nicht nutzen und die kinder waren etwas ängstlich, da unten zu bleiben. kann man auch Verstehen in so einer gegend. Wir haben das beste aus den aurlaub gemacht, aber noch einmal möchten wir dort nicht hin

Beautiful home but has some issues

We loved this home. The view outside was fantastic. The only issue was that there was a musty (maybe cat?) scent in the air and we’ll all got allergic reactions. The furniture inside could be a bit more comfortable but we enjoyed our stay.

Amazing and unique large property

The house is really unique, spacious and well equipped. The kitchen area and garden have a rustic charm while the other levels reflect the local roman heritage with marble and frescoes galore. The house is very large and in a quiet neighbourhood with spectacular views over the surrounding hills. En suites are small but practical. On road parking is plentiful. Kitchen equipment is generous if a bit mix and match. TV and white goods all work well though wifi is a bit slow. Had a wonderful few days and within 45 mins by car of central Rome.

Fun and special stay

The house is one-of-a-kind and very special. Extremely roomy and lovely, but it does need a lot of love. As the interior is quite outdated, it is not the cleanest of places. But we loved our stay, as we could enjoy the outdoors, large kitchen, many rooms and unique personality. Our hosts was very responsive and helpful.

Casa grande para mucha gente

Casa muy grande, con 6 habitaciones dobles de las cuales 4 tenian baño. Cocina bastante bien equipada. Mesa muy grande, para 14 personas en cocina/comedor y otra en la terraza. Jardin con piscina però la encontramos sin agua y no nos dijeron nada. En general super casa, però le falta mantenimiento. Con la propietaria súper bien y siempre pendiente de ayudar.

A spacious but badly maintained pace

On the pictures the place looks grand and indeed, it is spacious. However, many things make it less attractive. The living quarters have little daylight. There are lots of mosquitos, no air-conditioning. Several pieces of equipment are worn-out or wobbly. The bed linen was okay, but the place itself is not being cleaned. Especially the lower floor (with pool table) is a big mess, whereas the entire area around the house too has clearly not been attended to for several years. There is rubbish in many places and apart from the cactuses many of the garden shrubs and trees are either plastic or dead. In the spacious pool the original mosaic was once lovely, but now seriously damaged and dirty (black dirt and green algae). Due to leaks it requires new water (about 15.000 l) per day. For normal use a major clean-up operation and proper maintenance/management are required. We feel misled.

Maison familiale, très bien situé à 45mn de Rome et 15mn de Tivoli. Piscine Agréable dommage qu'elle ne soit pas mieux entretenue. Le ménage laisse un peu a désirer. Nous avons bien profité du patio et de la table extérieur. Très bon séjour dans l'ensemble.

Lucia,muy amable nos proporcionó un taxi de confianza, pero por el tema de limpieza muy regular zonas de baños,los colchones no muy cómodos ,la zona que tiene el billar que se ve en las fotos no se puede estar porque no tiene luz y olor agato,en fin se nota que no la habita en mucho tiempo , pero otra experiencia, sería un detalle que nos reenvorsara por lo menos un 20Þl pago,un saludo y gracias

Like a palace!

This house is as beautiful as the pictures. Lucia is lovely, attentive and a pleasure to interact with. The house is spacious and fun to explore. There are actually 6 bedrooms available, not 5 as the listing suggests. The views are amazing and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. There were ALOT of mosquitos, which is because of the location and time of year, and not the fault of the owner, obviously and not an issue inside the house. The pool was available into late September, but it was a little chilly for us. Most of the house is clean and well equipped. There is a washing machine, but no dryer, which is probably normal for Italy. There are many areas of the house that would be amazing if they were completed or updated. I have seen this on other reviews, so it seems that it is not the intention of the owner to pursue finishing these areas. I kept imagining the house completed like being a dream house with a ballroom and secret passageways! Even without them, the house was very cool to stay in. The ONLY reason we gave the house 4 stars instead of 5 was the bathrooms. All 4 showers were about 2' x 2'. It was very difficult to move in them without hitting the temperature controls and the water being too hot or too cold. As an American, I don't know if this is also normal for Italy. Overall, the house was comfortable and relaxing and we would stay here again if we planned another vacation of this kind.
