However, the electrics are in clear need of updating, with many sockets falling out of the wall and exposed wires. "Sadly the pool was is need of substantial repair. The cracked slabs and crumbling cement around the pool was dangerous for bare feet and attracted wasps to nest. Not ideal for young children and babies. There was a constant bad smell in the kitchen due to drainage problems in the area of the sink. The setting is idyllic and very peaceful in amongst the forest but we got bitten alive with all the woodland mosquitoes."

"B&B in a very quiet rural location with a lovely friendly host. Our room was spacious, light and airy with good wifi Very comfortable bed with quality bedding and towels. A traditional breakfast with lots of home made preserves and fresh apple juice. No resaurants nearby, so we brought prvisions for our evening meal. We loved the three donkeys in the field opposite, the great views and the stunning sunset."

"We had an amazing stay at this 7-bedroom Manoir! It has a real French château feel to it, with stunning architecture and unbelievable views.There's so much space to hang out, eat, and enjoy yourself that it's sometimes hard to choose where to go! It's such a quiet, relaxing, and beautiful place to be. The pool, bar, and pizza oven area are just wonderful and made our stay even better.We'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable and spacious getaway.5 stars!!!"

"Great location just off the motorway, very efficient check in and although the meal we had was expensive for what appeared to be a microwave dish, we were happy as a family to have it available. The room was large, two separate bedrooms and a huge bathroom. Warm, clean and comfortable."

"We have just returned from a brilliant couple of weeks at La Roche. The house and setting is lovely and so peaceful. We loved sitting in the garden or by the pool and listening to the birds. The house itself sleeps 8 and upstairs is a/c which was a relief from the 34 degree heat. Pool was clean and large enough for all the kids to play. Nearby to Bergerac with lots of easily reached day trips. Would definitely return. "
