Lovely little trip

We had a lovely few days in this cottage. It was well equipped and cosy and lovely to be so close to the sea. Enjoyed eating at The Bay and the Cross Hands and had fun watching the rugby with the locals at the Rising Sun!

Brief winter stay

Cosy house in great location for pubs, beaches and walking. Comfortable bed with all the kitchen amenities. Cool in winter weather but soon warms up nicely once heating understood.

Beautifully clean cottage

We love Cawsand and have stayed a few times but this was our first time in Howton Cottage. It's a beautiful cottage that was presented beautifully clean with lovely bedrooms, sitting room and a great kitchen. It had everything we needed. It doesn't have any outside space but the bathroom is well set up as a drying room for wetsuits, swimsuits, etc. would definitely recommend.

Canadians in Cawsand

The cottage and the village are quaint and delightful. We arrived by train to Plymouth, then chose to take the Cawsand ferry which landed right on the beach. It was wonderful but the ferry only operates as weather permits. Be aware that you have to order a taxi in advance if you need to leave the village for major grocery shopping or sight seeing. The cottage and the entire village is not suitable for mobility impaired. Lovely location.

Perfect location

The cottage is in a perfect location. Cawsand and Kingsand at both really lovely places with ideal beaches. It is a shame the Cross Keys pub has closed down on the square, perhaps a reflection of the times and maybe the lack of locals. Only big minus for me was the lack of recycling in the villages. We found nothing available and so had to carry all our empty bottles, plastic and cardboard back to Leicestershire. Surely the council should be doing better than this. No reflection on the cottage though, it's Fab!

Die Parkplatzsituation war hervorragend auf dem öffentlichen Parkplatz. Wie beschrieben 5 Minuten zum Cottage. Wir haben wunderschöne Ausflüge mit dem Hund gehabt. Einen Ausflug nach Plymouth mit dem Boot ist zu empfehlen. Die Restaurants vor Ort sind zu empfehlen. Die Strände sind in der Jahreszeit auch mit Hunden begehbar. Das Cortage entsprach nicht unseren Vorstellungen. Das Treppenhaus über drei Geschosse war abenteuerlich. Im Eingangsbereich, Essbereich und Küche hat es nach Feuchtigkeit gerochen, unangenehm, auch für die Kleidung. Da wir vier Tage Sonne hatten, nutzen wir die Räumlichkeiten nur zum schlafen im Obergeschoss.

Perfect location for this cosy cottage

Howton Cottage is perfectly situated about 2 minutes walk from Cawsand beach. It is a quaint little place with a large kitchen and ample storage space to unpack all your gear. Adjacent to the site of the Ship pub, which is now used for pop up events, we were lucky enough to have live music on the first night of our stay with a guitarist and singer and no need for a babysitter as we listened from our own front room. The only thing missing is some outside space, but the lack of this is typical in the village and it certainly wouldn't put us off coming back.

Cawsand/Kingsand lovely place!

Cottage in ideal location. There was just two of us and a dog and found it perfectly adequate for our needs. Lounge setup not perfect for tv watching (and tv a little small) but that was fine with us. Local pubs and The Bay restaurant all serving lovely food. Tasty pasties from the shop in the square No dogs on Cawsand beach during the summer but shingle beaches in Kingsand and beyond allow. Parking is in the local car park a short distance from the front and the property. Be advised there is a charge! We loved the area and will return

Property conveniently located. Very damp in living room settee felt actually wet it was so damp. Heating should be on to keep it dry it improved with the heater on but not a good start. Kettle lid is broken and light bulbs in attic bedroom not working. Very large stain on quilt cover in first floor bedroom — washed in but obvious, and whilst the bedding I think was washed it needs a jolly good boil! Very yellowed round edges. Surely there should be a rail up the stairs to the attic room and a safely gate at the top it’s very dangerous.
