Once past the tired exterior, we were greeted by Hassan (site manager). He was very friendly and patient when guiding all nine of us through how to use the coded doors. He genuinely couldn‘t do enough for us over our week‘s stay, from providing extra tea/coffee to giving advice on local attractions and places to go. All five rooms booked were clean and comfortable. They had provided fans in every room before our arrival due to the current heat wave. The two pools were fantastic. The outdoor pool was open for use from Monday morning. It was plenty big enough to enjoy, and we all took advantage of it every day of our stay. Members of our family used the steam room, sauna, and pool table. Although they only sell a select few drinks, they are happy for you to have your own and provide an ice machine, which came in handy whilst sitting on the balcony enjoying the outdoor space and chatting till late. Even the local fox gave a brief appearance. Overall, we all had a great time and without a doubt we will be back next year.

Room was clean but needs upgrading, bathroom configuration very small / restrictive. Didnt use pool or sauna facilities, however games room needs improvement. Cues has no heads and missing pool balls. Hotel.com offered breakfast, however was told no breakfast service at all by staff. Could be a brilliant venue with space and location but needs investment.

We stayed for 2 nights, staff were very helpful, carried our bags up to our room. Room was very clean though on the small side with no chairs, so could only sit on the bed.

The location was great only a short walk to the beach.Our room was the Devon suite and was spacious and very welcoming with a great view of the sea and outside pool. All of the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble the food was lovely and very reasonably priced. In this current climate of the virus the implementation of the Covid guidelines made us feel very safe and stress free, altogether a lovely few days away so thank you to all the staff at the Crofton House Hotel.......

I was very disappointed with the overall cleanliness and condition of this hotel. The front of the property was extremely dirty, with rubbish scattered around, giving a very poor first impression upon arrival. The outdoor swimming pool was out of service and filled with green, dirty water, which was both unappealing and concerning. The garden area was also poorly maintained, with broken furniture left lying around, adding to the neglected atmosphere. Inside the hotel, the heating was turned off despite the temperature being only 12°C. When we asked reception about this, we were told it was due to it being “summer,” which felt unreasonable given how cold it actually was. Our room itself had several issues. The curtains were partially falling off their fittings, and the bathroom had a constant sewage smell, making it very unpleasant to use. Additionally, many of the pictures shown on the website do not reflect the current state of the property. The hotel appears quite misleading in its presentation online compared to the reality. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations, and significant improvements are needed in cleanliness, maintenance, and honesty in advertising.

It’s a lovely building and has lovely rooms. However there was no hot water, the shower didn’t work , broken plug in bathroom sink. Couldn’t complain as there was no staff for most of the day Continental breakfast was very very limited with no fresh milk or any juices. We were the only people staying there. Never again

Really lovely staff. Evidently refurbishing the property which is needed. Comfy beds. Unfortunately there was an awful smell coming from our bathroom. In addition, the rooms smelts like mold and the bathroom was covered in mold in the shower seals. The steam room needs a good bleach as mold in it and smells awful.

Cheap, broken, not fit for purpose

Booked for 4 nights, stayed for 2. Staff were scarcely available, lots of broken parts in our room that didnt get fixed or looked at despite us raising with the manager. Radiators that deapite being switched off, kept heating overnight and keeping the room at 30°c. Cold swimming pool and jacuzzi. Overall very disappointed - thought it would be a nice budget hotel but left after 2nights. Would NOT recommend.

This hotel is ok - it could be nice but it needs some sorting out. The boiler kept breaking down when we were there and although they moved us room to one with a bath (which did have hot water) it was annoying, they fixed in the evening of our stay but it has stopped again in the morning. We had a suite which was lovely but the double room our friends had was not. To be fair it was really cheap so can’t complain much but a working shower is pretty essential!!
