It’s obvious the proprietors only care about selling spa services, and not operating a motel. The room was not as listed on Expedia for cooking - stove or oven were listed for all rooms. Nothing was there. There was 1 fork, no paper towels, dish towels or wash cloths & nowhere to eat except on your lap. The bathroom only had one hand towel for two people. The worst was the window coverings, none of which fit their window or provided privacy, much less light blocking. As for the spa, you can’t soak with your partner without paying extra. You’re in a dingy stall by yourself. We’ve had fun at hot springs in CA, CO & elsewhere at T or C. This is just a hot bath, not fun at all. Plus the tubs were listed on Expedia as opening at 7am, but they’re not open until 9. If you look at the proprietors’ website, they expect you to conform to their vibe or go elsewhere. In other words, they are always right, not the customer. They shouldn’t list on Expedia & not check the listing for accuracy. Our experience with was Terrible, but I only rated it Poor because everything was clean, and the TV was good.

The outside is nothing like the inside. Although older and run down looking the room was clean and perfect for our stay. The hot springs soak was nice (minus the guy who kept shushing even the people who were whispering) and the gift shop area was full out cute and useful items. They price was fantastic and I see us staying at the Charles more frequently!

Horrible experience. Counted 12 Roaches in first room. Moved to another room and had 4 under bed and Huge black widow behind pedestal sink. Was hard to kill because it was very fast to move out. Unfortunately will not be staying here again. I would not recommend

Don't judge this place by the looks on the outside! Unlock the door to your room (we had room# 3) and step into a comfortable, clean, spacious room with plenty of charm and comfy beds. The bath house is incredibly clean and quiet and oh so rejuvenating! If you are in the area, you should definitely check this place out!!

Did not have my reservation, staff got the ok to give me a room that was on hold. Below freezing temperatures outside, 2 electric heaters plugged in to keep it about 60. Longer i was there i realized EVERYTHING was on extension cords. No smoke detector, no CO2 detector, nosprinkler system. Accepted the loss of money and left in morning

The hotel itself was cute and the staff was very nice but we had a few issues from the go. We arrived late (8:30 pm) and got into our room but it was clear it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. There was an obvious dog pee stain on the furniture and it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. Then when we tried to shower we realized we didn’t have any towels. There was no one around to ask so we made due with the towel we had with us. In the bathroom there were stains all over the floor that I was able to sort of mop off with a hand towel. It felt like a dirty college apartment. We also didn’t have any hand soap though there was body wash in the shower provided. Overall the stay was cheap and convenient. I told the front desk upon checkout about the issues with the room and the lady was very nice and apologetic and said she would report it to the owners who would be in touch. They were never in touch.
