Everything was nice as usual for HIExp hotels. We expect clean, friendly, service-industry attitudes from staff, prompt attention to requests and information and/or rules of the specific area. This HIEx delivered in all of those.
All of the reviews online were positive, helpful, and correct! Beds were clean and comfy; bathrooms, too, with larger than standard bathtub, good shower water pressure and room enough to turn around. We like to unpack toiletries and the sink provided room on each side for all our bottles & jars & cans. I always appreciate a fan in the bathroom to reduce steam and smells and noises in the corridors beyond the easily secured door. I remembered toothpaste and mouthwash but not a toothbrush, staff asked no questions, just handed me a wrapped new brush, and offered the un-needed paste and mouthwash at the same time.
We did not like that the TV remote was not wrapped in a note letting us know it had been sanitized for our protection as most hotels since Covid have been doing. Also, I am usually very Tech-savvy, but the instructions on how to use the smart television were vague and it took a few minutes to figure that out. Sure, I could call the front desk, but as a man, I refuse to ask directions! As with all hotels serving an included breakfast I wish I could still get something to eat until 10 or later, we retire late and rise just as it closes.
Lastly, we were charged twice, once as booked, once on check-in. Watch out, will wait a few days for refund.
